About Me

I graduated from Fine Arts, where I acquired skills in various artistic expressions such as drawing, painting, illustration, graphic design and comics. I have extensive experience in the creative, artistic and university teaching fields. Learning is done while having fun!

Education

I benefited from a complete and varied artistic training, ranging from advertising to illustration, including comics, architecture, modeling, industrial design and graphics. In addition, I am an associate professor in information and communication, with two master's degrees in Advertising Design/Writing and Political Communication. A passionate and atypical profile!

Experience / Qualifications

I have taught at university level for over a decade, covering a variety of subjects such as advertising illustration, advertising copywriting, graphic design, photography and introductory comics. At the same time, I worked in the field of advertising while pursuing personal artistic projects, one of which earned me the first illustration prize from the Boghossian Foundation – Villa Empain. I was also a finalist in the Clavis editions international illustration competition which took place in Hasselt with a children's book.

Private Painting and Drawing lessons, any level! I am a classically trained painter, I have been painting seriously for 20 years and studied intensively in Florence, Italy. I will teach you the basics about light, form, line, colour and space, and how to constantly grow and improve. We start with drawing from observation and continue to other mediums, including oil paint, once the student is ready.

Landscape, still life, portrait, expressive. My goal is to help my students improve every time and reach a new level. I provide many examples from art history as well as my own work, and give lots of demonstrations. I offer a personalized approach fitted to each student.

The classes are in a small group format, no more than 4 at a time and each student works at their own pace, it is private classes with other students present, offering a supportive environment in which to learn and grow. Each student receives personalized instruction at their own level. Each student is guaranteed to improve.

I ask for a commitment of 5 lessons at a time to see some improvement, and I accept students who are looking for longer term learning. Commitment is a must to grow! I am a visual artist born in Barcelona, settled in Belgium since 2017. As an artist I have accumulated experience for the last 25 years. I am graduated with an Academic Bachelor in Fine Arts in the University of Barcelona and graduated as a Master in Visual Arts at Sint Lucas School of Arts in Antwerpen.

There are many ways to create a so-called "realistic" oil painting. And there are many visual tools that an artist can use to make a beautiful visual statement. Whether using thick impastos, thin washes of solvent-based color, bodied glazes, or mixed media elements, each technique can yield an engaging visual experience. Painting is, after all, a means of communication.

In this course, we will begin with the basic ideas and techniques for drawing and painting forms as the eye sees them. You will learn every stage for producing aesthetically pleasing and technically strong oil paintings.
