I obtained my Master degee in Flute a bec (Recorder) at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Brussels. I had already an Italian Master degree.
I like teaching music and Recorder.
I think I could teach music with really funny methods,starting to read music with nice books, to do general exercises for everybody. So, I'm also ready to teach music to the students who already know something, or who already play an instrument, but as well to the student who doesn't know and want to start :)

About Me

I started teaching Music when I finished my Bachelor Degree in Italy in a music school but private lesson as well. I'm used to teach to everybody (children, adults).
Of course, I could teach musical rules in general (so solfege, Music theory ecc ) and Flute a bec with the particular rules that this instrument and this Music can offer.
For everybody who doesn't know this particular repertoire of course I will do a short explanation of this century.

Education

I studied Music in Italy since I was 13 years old. I obtained Bachelor and Master Degree in Italy of Flute a Bec and Early Music with 110 cum laude. I studied for a short period English in London, in a private college. I also studied in Portugal, Porto at ESMAE (Escola superior de Musica artes do espetaculo). Now I'm doing my 2nd year of another Master in Flute a bec and Early Music Century at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Brussels.

Experience / Qualifications

I participated, as a Flute a bec solo in a lot of concerts and competition, such as "Premio Abbado" competition at the Bellini Conservatory of Music in Palermo, concert at Maison D'Erasme in Brussels with a Baroque Ensemble, a lot of concerts organized by the HiPP department (Early Music department)of the Kininklijk Conservatorium.

My name is Matteo and I am an Italian flutist and musicologist, based in Brussels since 2010. I graduated in modern flute at 'B. Marcello' Conservatory in Venice and at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels with Barthold Kuijken and Frank Theuns in the Baroque flute. I hold a master degree in Philosophy and Musicology as well.

I hold a PhD degree in music performance at Cardiff University, School of Music.

From 2013 till 2015, I have been teaching at the Venice Conservatory "B. Marcello", giving yearly lectures and seminaries on the historical repertoire for the flute. Since 2021, I have been appointed music curator of Coudenberg Sound Box Fest, a music festival which aims at celebrating the Belgian music heritage and takes place every year at the beautiful archeological site of the former Royal Palace of Brussels.

I recorded for Warner Classics & Erato, and a soloist for Arcana/Outhere Music ('La solitude à deux. Solos and duets by G. P. Telemann' in 2018 and 'Affect is no Crime. New music for old instruments' in 2019).
