Yoga and Mindfulness are incredible tools to help calm the mind and body. Children greatly benefit from this practice, as it supports their physical and emotional health, increasing strength, coordination and flexibility while also giving them the tools for emotional regulation, increasing focus, decreasing stress and anxiety, and boosting self esteem.

Storytime Yoga uses the power of story and imagination to teach children yoga poses, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques to increase overall health and happiness while connecting with the important adults in their lives. We’ll bark in downward dog, jump like a frog, and smell the flowers, all while gaining the benefits listed above.

About Me
Hey there!
I’m Colleen Wisor…mama, educator, yoga + mindfulness instructor, and Founder of Wise Star Wellness. My life’s work is dedicated to empowering children and families with the tools necessary to live the happiest and healthiest life possible.
I’ve spent my entire professional career working with children and families: as a program coordinator for a children’s non-profit, an early childhood classroom teacher, and, for the better part of the last decade, as a yoga and mindfulness instructor. I hold yoga certifications from Three Sisters Yoga and Karma Kids yoga in New York City and earned my Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Columbia University.

I believe the foundation of a healthy life is emotional wellness, skills that are often missing in our increasingly fast-paced, technology-rich and oft high-pressure society. Over the course of my career, I’ve supported hundreds of children, teaching them tools for self-regulation, stress relief, and self esteem.

Out of my 10 years of teaching was born a desire to create a safe, inviting space to cultivate deeper connections with families in order to foster social-emotional health and wellness and enhance communication skills in children and their parents. To take time out of their day to do less, not more—and reap all of the incredible benefits. I'm excited to provide families with the opportunity to join me online and in-home for classes to allow them to unplug and reconnect with each other in order to live their happiest, healthiest lives possible.
