Despite advances in AI and other technologies, the core practice of excelling in college remains reading comprehension and essay writing. While these tools can act as a band-aid, they do not help students with foundational learning skills overall. With five years of experience in teaching college composition, I am aware of the gaps between high school and college literacy with which many students enter. My course will focus on filling such gaps to improve prospective and current students' overall reading and writing skills to aid in textbook comprehension and essay writing for any class they may attend. Conversational Spanish is a very important part of the learning as it is the natural way to learn it. My classes are designed to help students to learn in a natural way by choosing a topic and dealing with that topic from all angles: grammar, speaking, listening and translating. That helps students to gradually absorb what they are studying. I usually conduct a relaxing lesson where students feel they can improve and learn at their own pace. Even if you are an absolute beginner you will be able to speak some Spanish by the end of the first lesson. A brief note: Since lessons are online, it is best to use a lapto/computer rather than a phone to enjoy the full experience.
