Hello everybody!
My name is Maricel, I am from Cuba, I’m a native Spanish speaker. I have a Bachelor ́s degree in Social Communication from "Marta Abreu de Las Villas" university in Cuba.
I have been living in Lebanon for 5 years and have been working as a private tutor for 2 years, and 9 months in a private school teaching Spanish from first grade to twelfth grade.
During my first years in this country I took several courses related to teaching Spanish at different levels in order to update myself with new forms and trends.
Courses:
1. University Teaching, Polytechnic Superior of Colombia. Virtual Courses.
2. Development of teaching competences.
In this course, developed by the Academic Directorate of the Institute Cervantes, numerous professors from different contexts present, proposals for reflection and improvement of different aspects of practice professional professors of ELE. The common thread for this review of the profession is "The key competences of the professors of second and foreign languages ".
My teaching method tries to find a balance between the development of communication skills and the study of grammar, it is important to know what your motivations are and what your goals are.
We will discover what your strengths are and what are the points where we will have to work more.
It is also very important to talk about your interests, your work and your hobbies to choose the topics that make the Spanish classes more pleasant and more motivating.
To develop listening comprehension we will use sounds from the radio, television, audiovisual media and songs that allow you to repeat the exercises independently.
To practice the conversation we will always use topics of your interest through which we will make the appropriate corrections.
I manage various methods and ways of teaching and always adapt to the individual needs of each of my students.
With my classes you are going to learn and improve all your skills (talking, listening, writing and grammar)
You’ll become familiar with the Spanish language, culture and lifestyle of Latin American countries.
The online teaching represents for me an opportunity to continue taking the Spanish language to other places in the world where there are people who want to learn it.
