Do you want do learn how to play the piano? Jazz or classical? Piano, harpsichord and keyboard lessons!Translate this text using Google Translate.

I started playing the piano when I was 8 years old. By that time I already could feel I would become a professional musician and teacher. I got my first bachelor in piano in 2007. When I was 13 years old, I started having harpsichord lessons and expanding my knowledge of classical and early music. In 2012 I got my bachelor degree in harpsichord and in 2014 my master degree at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague. Currently, I’m working with my ensemble, teaching piano and harpsichord, and am now doing my Ph.D. in Performative Arts at Leiden University I absolutely love to teach and pass my experience as a musician to my students on both instruments. I like to see them improving and have fun while playing. I work with several ways of teaching, depending on the student level and music background. Normally I work with piano methods with kids from 9 -12 years old. I can teach music theory if necessary and if it will improve the student’s needs to progress and reach their goals, I do that with pleasure. Harmony and a bit of keyboard improvisation are also very welcome to the class. My specialty is classical music, more specifically, baroque music, although I have notions of pop, jazz, and improvisation. Because I have sporting and personal training backgrounds, I’m specialized also on correcting postures and eventually avoid or solve pain issues when regarding playing.

Piano/Keyboard Lessons in the HagueTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Piano/Keyboard Lessons in the HagueTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Piano Lessons in The Hague Learning to play the piano is not only an incredibly useful skill but also an enjoyable and fulfilling process. The instrument can be a gateway to understanding and experiencing music, which is why I believe the piano should be made available to everyone. Children and Adults If you have a child or know someone who has developed an interest in learning the piano, you'd like to learn it as a second instrument, or you are a working professional who just fancies trying something new, I'd be happy to get you started on your musical journey. What to expect? You can learn how to read music, understand simple music theory, play simple chords and scales, develop your own creativity, and can focus on playing some classical/jazz/pop pieces and even work towards taking online performance exams. I will develop enjoyable lessons tailored specifically to you. Making the first steps In the beginning, the piano can be very overwhelming! I take a lot of time on the basics as there is always a lot to learn and take in. I use a variety of beginner method books and resources to help you build your confidence in understanding the piano itself, developing your coordination skills, learning to understand the musical notes on the page, developing your musical ear, and understanding basic music theory. Jazz - Pop - Classical After having covered the basics of piano playing, theory, and reading skills, many of my students move on to playing classical, jazz, blues, or pop pieces, practicing scales and finger exercises as well as further strengthening their sight-reading skills. Improvising Or if you perhaps wish to get away from notes written down on the page I can help you develop your own creativity by understanding theory and applying it to chordal playing, composing and improvising, and playing by ear. Practical Lessons From the age of 12, I had classical piano lessons and have always studied the piano as a secondary instrument to the trumpet. I continue to play piano as a hobby and during my studies at the conservatory, I developed an interest in jazz piano playing. You can therefore feel confident that no matter what your interest may be (perhaps you haven't figured this one out yet), I can give you high-quality fun, and enjoyable training in your own interests. No Piano yet? There are a lot of options and things to consider when working out how to get hold of or buy a keyboard/piano which can be confusing and sometimes stressful! I am happy to give advice to ensure the choice you make is right for you. Online Lessons For the last couple of years, I have been teaching lots of students online. Many have found this way not only to be very suitable but actually their preferred style of learning. Sometimes nothing can be better and simpler than learning in the comfort of your own home. As a teacher, I often find the best solution is a mix of both online and live lessons. We can experiment and find the best solution for you. Lesson Location I live in The Hague and teach from my apartment on a Yamaha Acoustic Upright and Electric piano. I'm pretty flexible, so if you're pushed for time or need to work out a better solution, I am happy to travel to another location close by if it's convenient! Get in touch If any of the above sparks your interest for you or a family member, or perhaps you feel like gifting someone you know with some piano lessons, please do get in touch.

Experimental Music Composition lessons and tutoringTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Dear reader, The lesson will be tailored-made depending on your needs and interests. My curiosity and knowledge are versatile and broad. Here is an example of subjects we could touch upon together: - Experimental music composition with an emphasis on electronic music (fixed media composition, live set, multichannel composition), composition mixing instrumental and electronics, algorithmic music - Music programming (SuperCollider) - Experimental music history + specific care of being as inclusive and diverse as possible - Listening sessions - Creating bridges between classical and experimental music - Notation: looking at different scores or ways of writing music than the more traditional ones - Sound synthesis techniques, spectral analysis of sounds and general understanding of timbre - Music theory with a specific emphasis on harmony and so-called rational tuning systems - Basics of recording, mixing, editing, and processing sounds (Live Ableton) - Music research — for instance, if you have to handle written music assignments or carry on specific music research projects - Coaching & methodology to enable you to carry your music project from A to Z - Sharing experiences in the music field and offering guidance and motivational support I am especially interested in working with female and non-binary students who I believe still need extra support in this field but am generally open to all kinds of people, ages and backgrounds! I look forward to hearing from you!

Wish everyone find out perfect- match teacher! And trust your feelings 🙌🏻❤️

Our son enjoyed so much a trial with Myrto! She is a very warm and smiley person, great and natural with kids! She was very patient and handled our 5y son wonderfully. It was very nice to have Myrto as she sparked so much joy and love for music. No hesitation to recommend her! In the end we opted for another teacher who spoke Russian to my son and that was an added bonus for us. Otherwise, we would be happy to continue with Myrto!

I have learned a lot with Andrea! I have had classes with Andrea for about 5 months now, and I have the sense that I have learned a lot about the fundamentals of bass playing in a way that I really struggled with learning by myself. He is a very patient teacher when going through more difficult theories or movements, but I've walked away from every class knowing a bit more and feeling a bit more confident in my playing.
