The focus will be on speaking practice (writing can also be taught), and building vocabulary to help you understand everyday conversations and express yourself with ease. If you aim for casual learning of the language I can also assist you. If you already have a good knowledge of Modern Greek and just want to sharpen your skills, I can help you with extra speaking practice and answer any grammar questions to improve the flow of your speech and deepen your understanding.

This course aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the modern Greek language and culture. Throughout the course, we will focus on developing listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills, using contemporary Greek culture as a reference. Various homework exercises will be assigned to assess students' progress, with particular emphasis on grammar, syntax, and spelling. The goal is to help students expand their vocabulary and effectively use it to construct grammatically accurate phrases and sentences. To accommodate diverse learning styles, we will explore different teaching methods, such as listening to songs, watching YouTube videos and listening to Spotify podcasts, reading excerpts from Greek texts, and utilizing online teaching tools like Mentimeter and Quizlet. The aim is to cater to the unique needs of each student and make the learning experience engaging and enjoyable. Regardless of your background, I am here to guide you through this captivating linguistic and cultural journey into the Greek language and culture.

Ancient Greek is one of the oldest languages in the world. A multitude of literary and philosophical texts have been written in this language. Later, Latin will take up many elements of the heritage of ancient Greek. Today, about 10% of the words in the French language have an ancient Greek origin. Our educational exchange aims to understand ancient Greek culture and Western European culture in general. Although it is a dead language, ancient Greek can instill values in us, broaden our horizons and even help us understand French better. At first we will study the alphabet and the general rules of word formation. With the help of mythology and texts (philosophical, literary and others), you will be able to understand basic words, phrases and expressions and get to know the world of ancient Greece. Finally, in Modern Greek, you can prepare for all levels, from A1 to C2.
