During the private lessons we will focus on grammar for beginners, but especially speaking in Spanish. Learning / daring to converse is a very important first step to master the language better and feel at home faster in your new country. My name is Fenna. I am 17 years old and have lived in Barcelona all my life. I speak fluent Spanish, Catalan, Dutch and English. As a Dutch person, I know very well what it is like to live and go to school in a Spanish-speaking country. I have guided many (new foreign) classmates in Spain in learning the language and culture, so that they felt at ease more quickly. I now live in The Hague and I like to help children with their first steps in Spanish.

My methodology is simple. The first hour with me is free, that hour is used to organize classes, familiarize myself with the material (if any), structure tasks, and define the objectives to be achieved. From the second hour, we get down to work with practice. My teaching method is based on positive reinforcement, rewarding progress, and effort with details and attitude. At the end of each class, you will receive a document with the corrections that have been made during it. At the request of the student, there is the possibility of recording the classes online if the student wishes.

Learning a new language can be bored and disappointing. However, it could be very exciting! Let's do it! We will learn Spanish or Catalan class using music, cinema, Spanish History, Barcelona, Catalunya, football, or basketball as a vehicle of knowledge. Or whatever you need! I prepare the classes in particular to each student, according to the level, the hobbies, and the age, of course. The first class is a kind of interview, with the parents or the student, or both, and it's for knowing ourselves in order to see the options and clarify the purposes and the goals. In this lesson I aim to help students with their conversational skills. If you’re looking to improve your Spanish, you have an exam or are travelling abroad, this could be a good option. My system consists in: 1. objective definition 2. Execution through in class practice 3. Feedback 4. Study/review by the student And repeat. By knowing your goals; weak points for improvement, the class can be oriented in that direction. If you still don’t know your goals (for example: practicing shopping conversation, or improving use of grammar), the class will provide with the observations and feedback needed to improve your level of Spanish.
