I teach one-to-one Maths and Physics to GCSE, A-Level and university students, online and in person around Birmingham. I hold an MSc in Electronics and Electrical Engineering with Distinction from the University of Chester, where I now teach and assess postgraduate students as a visiting lecturer. Alongside that I've been tutoring privately for several years, across GCSE, A-Level and first-year university modules. I've published two international conference papers, so the maths I teach isn't something I learned once and repeat from a textbook. I use it. What I cover: GCSE Maths and Physics, all exam boards including AQA, Edexcel, OCR and Eduqas A-Level Maths, Further Maths and Physics University Maths and engineering modules for science and engineering students Individual topics including algebra, trigonometry, calculus, statistics, mechanics and logic How I teach: Every student starts in a different place, so the first thing I do is find out what they actually understand rather than what the syllabus assumes they should. From there I break difficult ideas into small steps, work through plenty of examples, and set focused practice between sessions. I care more about a student knowing why a method works than memorising the steps, because understanding is what survives exam pressure when a question is worded unfamiliarly. Lessons are structured but relaxed. Students should feel comfortable asking the questions they think are silly, because those are usually the ones that matter most. I'm patient with mistakes and honest about what still needs work. If a student isn't ready for a topic, I'll say so and we'll go back a step rather than pretend otherwise. Term has just started, which is the best point in the year to build a routine before mocks in November and December. If your child is beginning Year 11 or Year 13, or retaking GCSE Maths this November, putting support in place now makes a real difference by the time the real papers arrive.

I work with two kinds of students: those preparing to meet university math admission requirements (OMPT, CCVX, VWO), and those already enrolled who need solid support in calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, probability & statistics, or discrete math including students at TUM, ETH Zurich, TU Delft, KTH, EPFL, and RWTH Aachen. Lessons are in English; I can explain in German where it helps.

I am aware that some topics may seem complex, but often this is simply the result of an inadequate explanation by the teacher. With me, you will discover a real interest in the material! In addition to the courses, I can also help with school orientation, identifying their preferences and highlighting the advantages and benefits of a fulfilling educational ambition. The sessions generally take place according to the following stages: 1️⃣ The first sessions are devoted to the assessment of the student's level in order to detect existing gaps. 2️⃣ Next, we create a personalized plan to address these gaps, including the number of hours of work needed, specific areas to focus on, and appropriate training and development exercises. 3️⃣ We stay in constant contact with the student's class teacher, to keep up to date with the latest requirements and ensure a consistent approach. 4️⃣ Subsequently, I provide exams similar to those that are likely to be asked in class, to prepare the student effectively. 5️⃣ Upon request, I write a regular report, usually monthly, to keep parents informed of their child's progress throughout their course. I adapt my methodology according to the specific needs of each student, thus offering them a personalized and adapted work approach. In addition, I offer crash courses for students preparing for the start of the school year, allowing them to start the year well prepared, with a solid lead on the school curriculum. I am already an electromechanical engineer, graduated as a senior technician in electronics and electrical engineering and who passed my bachelor's degree in mathematics with honors. I teach in different technical fields and especially mathematics, algebra and electronics. At the level of my teaching methods, I use those that are advised pedagogically, I always try to explain and detail as much as possible the courses and I do not pass to the following stages until after making sure that the student understood what I explained. As a teacher, I already have good experience teaching with students for 7 years. What is certain is that I always make sure to go as far as possible to explain the exercises.
