I am a professional visual artist with more than 30 years of international experience in exhibitions, residencies, research and teaching. I offer individual mentoring for students, emerging artists and established practitioners who want to develop a stronger, more coherent and personal body of work. Sessions can focus on portfolio development, selecting and editing work, developing concepts, identifying recurring interests, strengthening your artistic voice, researching references, writing about your work and preparing applications for art schools, BA/BFA and MFA programmes, residencies, grants, exhibitions and other professional opportunities. We can also work together if you feel stuck, disconnected from your practice or unsure how to move from isolated works or ideas toward a meaningful body of work. My approach combines close discussion of your work with contemporary art, art history, critical references and practical strategies. I do not impose a particular style or aesthetic. The aim is to help you understand what is already distinctive in your work and develop it with greater clarity, depth and confidence. Mentoring is available in English or Portuguese and is adapted to your individual goals and stage of development.

I will help you study Art History in a clear, visual, and understandable way, placing the works within their historical, cultural, and social context. I offer private Art History lessons for high school and university students, as well as support for students who need to reinforce knowledge related to art, culture and the Humanities. My goal is not for you to memorize a list of styles and characteristics, but rather to learn to observe a work of art, identify its main elements, analyze it, and relate it to its era and context. In this way, the study of art becomes meaningful, and it becomes much easier to remember and understand the material. How can I help you? Art History for High School. I hold a degree in Humanities, with a broad and multidisciplinary background in History, Philosophy, Art, Culture, and Thought. I also have a teaching degree and teaching experience, which allows me to adapt both the content and the way I explain it to the level and needs of each student. My background in the humanities allows me to approach art not as an isolated succession of works and styles, but as an expression of each society and each era. We will understand what is represented, how it is represented, and, above all, why it is done in that way.

I offer personal online lessons in art history and visual culture for students, beginners and curious adult learners. My teaching style is conversational, supportive and adapted to your interests or study goals. Together, we can explore the classical canon of art history, analyse individual artworks, prepare for exams or essays, or focus on a specific artist, period or movement. I place strong emphasis on understanding artworks through the context of their time, historical thinking and different ways of interpretation, including approaches inspired by the Vienna School of Art History. I have around 10 years of teaching experience and currently teach visual culture and art history at secondary school level. My goal is to help you look at art with more confidence, curiosity and depth.
