From 26.8 £ /h
Do you love Italian people, history, and food and you would like to speak the language?
I am a CEDILS-certified Italian teacher born and raised in Florence, and I've also been a language student myself for a long time! If you want to be able to interact with Italians quickly, I can give you some tips about correct pronunciation, fundamental grammar, and vocabulary, but also Italian art and popular culture, which I think is fundamental to understanding the mentality and the country that you are going to interact with.
Lessons will be tailored according to the student's needs, level, and mother language and focused on the conversation.
I am also available to proofread your writings.

About Me
I'm Gemma and I am passionate about languages and our ability to learn and understand them. My first love is Arabic. I've traveled to Morocco, Egypt, and Tunisia, where I lived for almost seven years and I regularly visit the country for long periods. Here I've been working with Media, tribunals, researchers, NGOs until I discovered that my real vocation is teaching. I deeply believe that education is the key to bettering mankind. I am also a fun of glam rock, folk tales and music.
Education
I have a "classical" education. I studied Italian language and linguistics, ancient Greek and Latin. Then, I studied Arabic for seven years obtaining a master in Classical Arabic. However, as I am really passionate about dialects, I specialized in North African Dialects, especially Tunisian. I also have a master degree in International and Intercultural Negotiation and I traveled around North Africa to study in several accredited Arabic Schools for Foreigners. I love teaching Italian to foreigners and I am attending webinars and online classes to deepen my knowledge of innovative ways to teach my mother language online. Recently I also obtained the CEDILS teaching certification from Ca' Foscari University of Venice.

The Arabic writing system may seem challenging at first glance, but in reality, it’s a beautifully structured alphabet that anyone can learn. With the right approach and a bit of dedication, mastering it takes less time than you might think.
In this class, we will learn and memorize the shape of the letters and their correct pronunciation through listening exercises and writing practice. As we explore the alphabet, we will also dive into Arabic culture and traditions, making the learning process both engaging and meaningful.
After years of teaching Arabic, I created this class to help:
Curious learners who want to explore the Arabic alphabet and pronunciation.
Arabic speakers who never had the chance to learn how to write.
Those struggling with the language and looking for a stress-free way to break the ice.

This class is about learning Tunisian Arabic to easily interact with Tunisians. Tunisian Arabic is not the first dialect you hear about when you start to learn Arabic, but it is indeed one of the most fascinating and useful, especially if you are working in Tunisia, your partner is Tunisian or you are into North African social studies.
It occurred to you to be told that Tunisian Arabic has no grammatical or syntactic rules because it's not real Arabic? Well, that's not true! I can reveal you some tips to speak and sound Tunisian even if you don't know anything about Arabic. We will talk, play, watch videos from Tunisian tv programs and learn about language and culture.
I also do transcriptions and translations of documents and videos into French and Italian for academic researchers, journalists, and entrepreneurs.
