My music production tuition is split into the following sessions as an initial course: SESSION 1 - Getting started: Clip View, Arrangement vs Session View, Device View, (Browser and Toolbars) - import your sounds and download free Virtual Studio Technology plug ins. Arrangement view techniques and taking initial session ideas to arrangement. SESSION 2 - Working with MIDI, making a groove from drums. Methods that can be replicated every time you start a dance track. Creation of loops and velocities. Quantisation of recorded MIDI. Here, you will write your own basslines/melodies. SESSION 3 - Working with Audio - grid settings, warping, looping. Recording external audio and fitting within the mix. SESSION 4 - Mixing, Processing and automation. I will analyse your track here, with critical analysis and see how we can improve the final arrangement, so it’s dance floor ready. Bounce to WAV file for storage. I specialise in tutoring music from beginner level to secondary school, having taught in the classroom up to IB and A Level music. I have taught composition and music technology coursework in these higher level studies and have had students attain a place at Oxford University to read music. No matter if you are a performer, composer, or academic musician, a solid grasp on music theory is extremely important. I have taught theory from beginner to advanced level and can tailor lessons to specific needs. I am a freelance composer and producer outside of tutoring and love to provide lessons for those who share the same enthusiasm for this creative process. The focus will be on honing composition and production techniques and refining the musical language of the artist. Even for beginner-entry creators, learning this at the start would be excellent for development.

Professional Music Producer with 7 years of experience in music for artists & for film. Credits include Walmart, Pandora, CW Channel, BBC and more. Remote & in person music production lessons for beginners & upwards. About the lessons: I want my students to discover their own creativity & way of doing things with music production. I'm a strong believer in what sounds good, is good. I take a no one size fits all approach with my students and tailor each lesson to best serve your interest. I use Ableton Live, however most skills are transferable between DAW's. We will go through production techniques and how best to use them. I also encourage students to share any work in progress tracks so we can go through them and fine tune. We can work out of my studio in Manchester or online! Length of lesson: 1hr-3hrs Age: 16+ About Me: Hi! I'm Chris. I've been a professional music producer, artist and songwriter for the past 7 years. I have had many successes with my creative approach to production, including producing music for supermarket giant Walmart for their online advertising campaigns, securing placements with CW channel & Batwoman and more! I feel many learning resources for music producers are based around a "one size fits all" approach, which, from experience is rarely true. Music is creative and subjective art which should be emphasised with the production.
