About Me
Biography
I trained in Italy, at the Accademia Musicale Francisco Tarrega where I learned hand and foot techniques according to the American school, with Alessandro Napolitano, drummer known in Italy and Europe.
Then, I continued my drums and jazz harmony studies at the ENM of Villeurbanne in the Jazz section with Michel Chionchini and Afro Cuban percussions with Isel Rasua. In addition, I deepened my knowledge of Afro-Latin percussions with study trips to Colombia and Cuba where I met several musicians and learned with local masters. I play in different formations in France and abroad, in concert or in studio. Among others: Guaracha Sabrosa (Cuban sound), Pambelé (Afro-Colombian), La Sazon (Latin jazz), Malamaña Orquesta and many others.
Content of the drum course
Adapted to the needs of the students, my lessons develop three main aspects of the magnificent world of drums:
- The technique (hands, rudiments, feet)
- Group play and musicality
- Listening and deciphering.
Objective of the drum lessons
My goal is to help students reach a level that allows them to consider different musical experiences. Students will be able to adapt to different playing situations and styles of music.
The courses take place in two parts:
- In the first part, I give targeted exercises according to the level of the student, in order to improve the technique specific to the instrument;
- In the second part, it is the student who proposes to work on a piece, on a musician or a style in particular.
As soon as the pupils are motivated and hardworking, it is possible to integrate occasional groups for the numerous auditions of the school. After a little experience it is also possible to join a workshop all year round.
