1 double bass teacher in Leeds

A holistic approach ensures that my students are encouraged and inspired to explore all aspects of music making from the very beginning.; active listening, improvisation, composition, ear training and rhythmic skills are used together to help to develop the whole musician and improve instrumental abilities. I have experience teaching a wide range of people from young beginners to older professionals, and aim to develop the confidence and skills of my students in a safe and inclusive environment. I am happy to work towards grade exams, personal musical goals, conservatoire auditions, original songs/compositions, identifying together which areas we want to develop and work on and providing the necessary tools and resources to further skills. Most of all, I provide a fun and enthusiastic learning environment to make lessons enjoyable for everyone! Lessons are available at my home in Hunslet or via Skype/Zoom. Teaching at your location will be at a higher rate based on distance and travel time. I am a Masters qualified professional musician who is currently a senior lecturer at Leeds Conservatoire, and also have 10 years experience teaching a variety of younger age groups through award wining organisations such as Symphony Hall Birmingham, Make The Paint Dance (Leeds) and NOFA. Prices and subject areas are flexible - please do feel free to get in touch! TESTIMONIALS "Really friendly and patient chap. Trusted teacher: Hello, thanks for coming :) I have been a professional musician for over 20 years (double bass, electric bass, piano, arranger, composer and music teacher), of Serbian origin and having also lived in Austria, Spain and France. I spend most of the time in Barcelona from where I give private lessons online. As usual, they are tailor-made, prepared and designed according to your level and objectives. You can also communicate in Spanish, English, Catalan or Serbian-Croatian if you prefer. I studied music, bass and double bass in Serbia ("Stankovic", Belgrade), Austria ("Universitat für Musik und darstellende Kunst", Graz) and Spain ("L'Aula de Música moderna i jazz", department from Berklee School of Music, Barcelona) with Wayne Darling, Horacio Fumero and David Mengual. I have a long experience of teaching music at different ages, from 10 to 56 years old. I also regularly make, since 2007, an educational musical theater by all Spain for the children of the primary school, on the music of the Balkans, supported by the Spanish Ministry of Culture and Education. My courses, for all ages, are also at all kinds of levels, from beginners to professionals. I will not say that there is a short way to learn, but there are certainly more interesting ways, especially if we pay attention to avoid / correct bad positions (arms / body) so as not to develop tendinitis. Then we can enjoy having fun playing JAZZ, CLASSIC, LATIN, WORLD MUSIC (especially from the Balkans), etc ... I play German, but I teach the bow both French and German. I use (or I adapt, it all depends on the student) the methods developed by Ludwig Streicher, Eduard Nanny and Bass Institute of Technology. I recommend headphones or speakers that can reproduce bass frequencies, which is not always the case with those of the laptop. Also, connect with the cable instead of WiFi, because it ensures a good connection and we are in the same room. Courses can be based on: - Introduction - Functions in the orchestra - Learning known songs - Construction / development of bass lines - Reading - Classical / jazz harmony - Improvisation, etc Don't be afraid of the scale of this instrument :) because it also offers a whole world of possibilities to express yourself as a musician and artist. Your success is my success too. I have been teaching since 2004 and I have seen that everyone goes through the same or similar, so following you through a screen is not a problem for me. In addition, you can save your time and money because it is possible to take a class without going out and moving. Or take it where it would be best for you. Of course, if there is a network ... :)) I hope to see you soon . My schedules are flexible during the day, so it's easy to agree. Musically ,

Francesco
I have had several lessons with Francesco, and he is an excellent teacher! I am a beginner on the Double Bass but have previously played other instruments and know a bit about theory, so I really appreciate his versatility in expalining different musical aspects. I strongly recommend Francesco if you are looking for a music teacher!

Lessons of Double Bass and/or Bass Guitar, classical and/or pop and rock music. (Leuven)
Daniele
My 15 year old son has really enjoyed his lessons with Daniele. Too early to tell whether he’ll continue long term, but Daniele has put him at his ease, encouraged him and generally created everything possible for a non-threatening entry into the musical world. Fully recommend Daniele as a bass guitar teacher.

Nuno
First lesson went of quite well considering that I'm a novice, but with help from Nuno who is a very patient and pleasant guy i do feel a bit more confident. He explains it in a simple format giving you the time to understand what you are actually trying to play. I look forward to my next session
