Teaching for me is about personal connection and facilitating a safe environment with your students and interacting with them on their level rather than simply infusing knowledge. The idea of teaching someone something to copy from influence is one thing, however to teach the learner to be comfortable to explore themselves artistically and at the same time have self discipline takes patience and understanding the individual. Personally I think a learner should be taught from the ground upwards and to slowly neglect bad habits from the past, this relating to technical stumbling blocks or the inability to think outside of the box artistically. I believe students with more insight into their own ability can then become truly versatile and more importantly 'satisfied' with their work and practice. I teach a range of techniques in my art lessons such as palette knife, paint brush techniques and technical sketching methods. I also instruct with a diverse variety of mediums such as pastel, charcoal, pencil, acrylic and oil paint as well as mixed media. With my background in hyper-realism portraiture, the subject matter I specialise in is realist portraiture, also with considerable experience in landscape and still life tutoring. I do encourage my students to venture into abstraction and mixed media aswell, which I feel can loosen up students to learn to relax and have fun also while making artwork. Whether studying for GCSEs, A Levels, University or just your own enjoyment, I teach at a level best suited for the learner and the goals in which they pursue. I would obviously encourage students studying for grades to follow certain assessment checkpoints which would be revolved around contextual and method referencing, self reflection, experimentation and consolidation. This will vary for different learners at different stages and obviously with different interests. I do stress though at the heart of my teaching is technical skills and learning to explore personal artistic growth. These are skills which are easily transferable to whatever stage you’re at with your art practice.

I am still a art student however in the earlier stage of my life I have won a national art competition twice in Romania, moreover achieving academic recognition and always having outstanding grades in my in my art studies; I have recent experiences with educating children which allowed me to help them express their visions on paper or in projects and it influenced my art world massively. For painting sessions, if you require painting equipment we can lend the following: 10PCS different Paintbrushes, 24 different colour acrylic paint, watercolour 16 range of colours, paint pens and 3 different sizes of canvas. These equipment can be used unlimited for an hour of the session, also any artwork can be kept. To borrow equipment, the cost will be £15 more each session; however if you have your own art equipment that is acceptable for sessions, the sessions fee will be normal.

Through over eleven years of studying and practicing Fine Arts, I have acquired a deep love and appreciation for traditional art techniques such as traditional technical painting and drawing, and mixed media sculpting but also enjoyed experimenting with uncountable numbers of other unconventional media integrating them with contemporary languages. My course will help you improve your skills or learn from scratch how to get drawings, sculptures and paintings according to your goals.

I teach fine art with an emphasis on painting and drawing, you will learn how to draw using charcoal, graphite, pencil and paint using oils, acrylic, ink and watercolour. However the lessons are deigned to experiment with as many materials and approaches to making art as possible in order to for you open up your practice. The tutorials are also designed to engage in critical thinking, discussing your work in an informal but constructive way, and learning about art history by looking at other artists past and present. Art is about being passionate and finding something you want to express in a visual language, and I’m here to help facilitate your vision.

Drawing as the basic visual language is one of the most powerful ways to connect what you see and record through your body. This class is suitable for people who are applying for Bachelor and Master programs in Art. We will start with still life drawing and continue our observations with the human figure. Initially, I would suggest pencils, pastels, crayons, and charcoals to make the drawings on paper. After getting familiar with the human figure, I will ask you to alter the medium; i.e., the marker and the surface, to explore the visual language of the materials. Moving from observation to the materiality of our drawings, I will ask to draw and write from memory. This part of the class would enable us, to collect images and make narratives from our source materials that we have observed, recorded, and recalled.

Approaching our creativity can be intimidating or even frightening at times if done without some confidence in basic skills or a driving and canalised inspiration. This class aims at addressing the development of both allowing the students to express themselves with ease and satisfaction. The program is structured following the needs of the student. Each of them though will develop a well-grounded and consisted understanding of several mediums. From drawing with pen, ink or charcoal to painting with watercolour, oils or acrylics. Once a discrete mastery of the medium has been reached the students will find themselves capable of bending the potentialities of the technique to express themselves freely. It is not my interest to teach the impeccable technique, but rather to empower the students with simple and clear tools so that they might fluidly use them intuitively and with confidence. My goal is to transmit and share what I have learnt by the side of artists and illustrators in Rome, New York and London and through my personal research. I strongly believe the direct human connection between teacher and student is key in the learning process.

In order to conceive a good illustration you need to understand and master a few bases. This course is made to teach you basic drawing technics ( traditionnal and digital ) and to help you understand the rules of composition, character design, concept art, colours and storytelling. The goal of these lessons is to help you devellop your style and improve your skills in order to conceive your own personal illustrations and artworks. Illustration is all about storytelling! Therefore you also need to know how to build a story, invent credible characters and develop environments that will make your visuals unique and captivating. As a professionnal animator and illustrator who has worked in the industry for several years, I can offer a course covering many different technics and softwares. The programm can be adapted to your personal preferences ( technics, tastes, goals...) and can focus on traditional technics or digital or both!

I am a painter, weaver and researcher currently doing a PhD in textile research for trauma recovery. For the past two years I have been on The Clothworkers Company of Weavers Award - developing my artistic practice at Cockpit Arts, London’s leading studios for contemporary crafts and the UK’s only business incubators for makers and designers. In 2019, I graduated from an MA in Weave at the Royal College of Art. Since them, I have been mentoring students with building their portfolio and undertake research. Alongside my practice, I also teach drawing and painting for all levels. Painting is an expression of a state of mind, emotions and sensations. With the right tools and skills, it can become your language. I help my students building their aesthetic and gain confidence whether it is for leisure or professional purposes. I sell my work on the online platform Zatista and have given talks on textile and mental health at the Craft Council. I am also part of a research project with the Craft Council and Creative Europe.

In this class I will teach you to draw from basic. How to use colours and learn more about them. I will also help you to understand the shapes composition and styles of drawing.

Throughout my four years of study in the “Dimitrie Paciurea” Art High School in Bucharest, I was able to study art in depth and in its various manifestations, and in doing so I was able to see the glimpses of the subconscious mind set as reflected in art. My teaching method is based on communication and experience. By that I mean that, I approach my students with curiosity, promoting their researching abilities. Moreover, I deeply analyse and question the meanings of their chosen topics of inspiration, in order to offer a better understanding of the symbolic meaning behind their though process. Likewise, I promote freedom of choice in their subjects with guidance throughout each project, and encourage originality and ingenuity. Thus allowing them to understand themselves on another level. Subsequently, due to my experience in working with disabled children I have understood that the subconscious is present in any creative project hence why if I suspect that the child is going through some hard times I will immediately offer feedback to their parents. Altogether, my final goal is to understand the hidden meaning of the hints left by the subconscious, through our day to day life, and inspire others to adventure in this journey

I specialise in drawing high quality detailed pieces of art from Manga to Portraits. I am self taught from a young age and can easily help others become better or teach them, give them tips. Working with me maybe once a week or whatever is suitable will guarantee that my student will become better and better at drawing. Practise makes perfect especially when supervised.

My areas of strength are mathematics and drawing for secondary school students and the GCSE examinations. My aim is to present the topics in such a way that the students can understand easily and be motivated. I assign homework after every lesson to help the student grasp the topic well and I also provide progress reports.
