Going back to the basics is sometimes a key process when mastering your craft in the Art & Design subject. Often when studying an Art subject for GCSE or A Level, you may not already have the basic skills but learn things as you go. However, I have designated this session to give you a head start and to provide a helping hand if students struggle more when it comes to art especially. This session will focus on providing simple steps to drawing an object or person as my specialty is in portraiture drawing and sketching in pencils.

One-on-one tutorial with an award winning contemporary artist to help you to push your work forward thematically and technically, whist helping to realise how your work sits contextually in the world in this time and place. I certainly expect my younger students especially to complete these assignments. While my lessons are technical and follow strict parameters, there is plenty of opportunity for students to choose their own subjects and designs. I also highly recommend my student take excellent notes during my demonstrations and instruction time. I will always share my own notes and sketch journals so the student has a goal in mind. After a section of tuition has been completed (equal to a half term) I examine the notes and give feedback. I'm a practicing fine art/contemporary painter and Fine art painting graduate of The University of Brighton with skills in drawing and painting. My experience ranges from doing workshops for children at the Jerwood Gallery, being a teaching assistant for education agencies and giving tutorials at the University of Brighton to Fine art painting students through my third year of studies. As well as this I absolutely love looking at art history and how it is still contributing in the art we see today. I am a visual learner so I will encourage you to be the same and I love experimenting with new techniques and mediums.
