Trusted teacher: Maths, Economics: I teach Mathematics and Economics to GCSE and A-level students. Since this year there will not be any exams I would like to help students target their weakest areas and strengthen their overall and in depth understanding of those subjects. This will benefit them tremendously later on when the difficulty of the material increases and requires more profound understanding. At times like this it can be a challenge to keep students mentally stimulated. At the same time due to the amount of time available it is a unique opportunity to greatly improve their knowledge and understanding before they move onto the next stage of their education.

I have been teaching students for 4 years in various age categories. I believe there is no one in way to teach, as each student is different and may benefit from different strategies. Subsequently, I look to find the method of learning to which everyone of my students can perform to their best ability, something that just can’t be done in the classroom.

I specialise in tutoring Economics and Mathematics at all school level exams. My goal goes beyond help students to achieve higher grades and in the process make it more enjoyable. I specialised in Economics and Mathematics at the University of Cambridge, achieving a 2:1 in my degree. I achieved 10A*s & 1A at GCSE level and 3A*s & 1A at A Level (Mathematics (A*), Further Mathematics (A*), Economics (A*) & Geography (A)). Despite this success I really struggled with academia prior to my GCSEs and absolutely hated revision/exams! I think this view was compounded by my dyslexia. However my track record shows that I have been able to overcome these challenges through what I think is a really effective learning method! During sessions I will work through the theory, ensuring that it is well understood. Following the sessions I will assign homework, which will be used to map progress. I also want to actively engage in the students lives, as I provide mentorship!

Trusted teacher: Associate professor of economic and social sciences, I suggest you help your child to progress and succeed in high school. I use remote work tools during the confinement period. I have been teaching high school students from second to final for 15 years. My baccalaureate experience (presiding over a jury, developing subjects, evaluating subjects, etc.) allows me to help your child understand the expectations of the SES test at the baccalaureate. Besides my career in secondary and higher education in France, I studied cognitive sciences. These allowed me to acquire tools helping students to understand and assimilate their lessons; such as speed reading, mind mapping or sophrology. I offer 2-hour sessions during which we work on your child's course or from my own materials. After a presentation and a brief study of the learner's profile, we work on knowledge to be mastered that we then put into practice on subjects of baccalaureate records. I prepare students for the SES E3C or final exam (compulsory education and specialties: social and political sciences or in-depth economics). see you soon Monia

I believe STEM subjects like maths need to be taught from the bottom up - if you don't know the absolute basics, somewhere along the line you're going to get really confused even if you generally know what's going on. Eventually you'll reach a problem which doesn't make any sense - I remember when learning matrices for the first time in A-Level I had to revise some of the most basic GCSE maths notation to do with brackets (parentheses) - something I hadn't revised since year 11. Once there is a basic level of understanding established, I can work up from there, and see which learning strategies better suit each student depending on their interest. I tend to lose focus when I'm less interested in something, so my aim is to try and not make anything seem boring, with minimal impact on what I'm teaching.
