This course is for those who want to regain confidence in their voice and find the pleasure of thrilling to those who want to improve their singing techniques adapted to them.

I propose sessions based on a very particular approach to the voice, both as a tool of "diagnosis" and self-exploration, both as the most intimate and enjoyable musical instrument. A moment of "vibratory pleasure" associated with precious vocal tools to anchor oneself in one's body and singing with authenticity, refining one's listening and sensitivity towards one's self and one's surroundings.

Where does it join the work of singing?

We will work :
- Body anchoring and breathing enhancement (based on yoga practices and Do in)
- Relaxation and resonance in all areas of the body (vowel sounds, syllables, harmonic singing)
- anchoring the sound (placement of the voice, correctness of the notes and rhythms) to find confidence in his voice and his song.

At the end of the session, we will work on the interpretation of a song or a song proposed or of your choice.

I prepare the course according to your request and I adapt my approach according to your needs and possibilities.

Musically yours!

About Me
Singer and storyteller, passionate about the language of sounds and body, my research and my vocal experience brought me on very different terrains, starting from the interpretation of French songs to touch the jazz, to immerse myself in the improvisation as well as in a work of exploration of the voice through a form of sound meditation inspired by traditions of ancient India (bijas, mantras).

I like to vibrate, with the accuracy of the authenticity first, that which allows to sing with what we are deeply (and that's where I love vocal improvisation), then with a good anchoring and notes that sound. This is where the technique is needed to support the singing and be really present to our body that emits sounds.

In my opinion, the exploration of sounds allows to meet and release its own musicality, it is complementary to a more technical approach to the voice, which will strengthen it.

This is what I propose to experiment.
Education
My artistic training began at the International School of Theater (Lassaad, Bxl) and Ateliers de la chanson (Bxl). Then I followed a course in vocal improvisation (David Eskenazy, Fr) that I still practice, in "sacred songs and sound meditations" (Open Ear Center, US).

I also gleaned a lot of tools by creating a voice class for a theater school.
Experience / Qualifications
- Singer, storyteller, author and composer of my songs, I have been singing and playing on stage and on the street for 20 years.

- I have experienced the voice in all its moods and in all weathers!

- Experience as a teacher of singing at the International Theater School Lassaâd (Bxl), on the occasion of internships that I run and in individual lessons.

I will be happy to guide you to this joy and confidence that song offers.

This course is for all those who want to sing and whatever their level, age, history! The desire and the pleasure of singing must be the first motivation!

Actress, singer and author I developed my musical practice (jazz singing, voice work, piano) parallel to my studies of theater at Insas and music at Lemmensinstituut. Next to the artistic projects that I lead (ROSA - Brazilian music - jazz - French song); Foëhn (jazz, world music), I taught the musical awakening from 2015 to 2017 at the school of music Blanches and Black and gives since the beginning of the 2018 the course of vocal training for students actors of the "Cours Florent" in Brussels and I propose on the other hand courses of songs and a work of the voice in individual or collective.

The sessions last 1 hour and can be held in groups or individually.
We always start with breathing, relaxation and inking exercises and then explore our tool with a few exercises before going to work on a piece if the student wishes. We then search together for the right tone and then dissect the melody and the text for personal interpretation. (Possibility also to work texts for reading!)

Let's go to meet this wonderful tool that we use constantly but know so little: the voice and more precisely the voice sung!

Graduated in composition and Orchestration and in the art of theater and directing, having a Master in Musical Theater at the Sorbonne University Paris and a doctorate of advanced research in the art of singing and musical interpretation , I propose singing and interpretation lessons, based on the understanding and implementation of the Belt technique (breathing, voice placement, flexibility of diaphragmal pressure, diction) and a practical application of the theatrical method from Stanislavski for a thorough understanding and discovery of the theatrical interpretation of songs.

2. Practical work on a song with eclectic choice.

3. A part of learning music theory and reading of score, if necessary.

I work with you, putting a lot of emphasis on discovering or developing your voice at your own pace.

I can also propose:

2. Music interpretation course (we work on the game and the construction of a character, the emotion of the song, the nuances)

3. Theater course (Actor's Studio method) - (we work on the body expression, the scenic presence, the connection between thought and action on stage),

4. Course of musical theory and solfege (the bases of the musical theory to be able to read and follow a partition),

Do you want to know your vocal range? Learn how to sing higher notes without hurting your voice? Learn how to hit the passing notes? Achieve a powerful yet agile voice?
My name is Matteo Schifanoia, I am a songwriter, pop and jazz singer, and vocal coach with 20 years of experience in music. I offer singing lessons for all levels. My lessons focus on developing body, muscle, and vocal awareness, which helps us perceive and consider our bodies as musical instruments.
My teaching method is the result of the synthesis of my experience as a singer and the many and diverse study paths followed. The lesson is structured in two parts: the first half devoted to vocal technique, the second half to the musical repertoire and learning the musical language (jazz or pop or other genre).

The vocal technique that I propose is a basic technique for all types of modern singing: from postural education to the care of breathing, from the use of abdominal muscles, to the emission of air to the resonance cavities. We will work on the sound, on the extension of the voice, on the high and low notes, on the passage of register, on the control, on the power and agility.
From a repertoire perspective, the lessons will be tailored to the student's needs and interests, with an emphasis on proper stage presence and posture. I can prepare students for conservatory entrance exams and all types of auditions. If the student wishes, I can also provide instruction in harmony and music reading.

Passionate about the performing arts since childhood, I first studied the violin, then dance and theater to finally combine time with lyrical singing.
I studied musical comedy and then opera in various courses including the National Conservatory of Music in Paris.
I have been giving private lessons for several years and I have created several musical shows with amateur adults in associative settings.
Each voice is unique! I really work according to the stamp, the level, the personality of each one. I am convinced that voice work, in addition to being beautiful and pleasant, helps us to gain self-confidence, develops our imagination, helps to let off steam and unburden ourselves of all that we experience on a daily basis!
I adapt to the desires and objectives of everyone: the actor wanting to add a color to his palette, the lawyer wanting to calmly work on his voice, the student wanting to sing in the evening, all workers wanting to sing to let off steam, for all people who are convinced they don't know how to sing...
