Trusted teacher: I Specialize in teaching young people to Rap. From beginner levels all the way through to having a successful music career. My name is Gavin and I'm a successful rapper, producer and bestselling author. Some may think that Rap is about ego but in reality, rap is about finding your true identity through your voice. The process of learning a skill that has been officially categorized by ‘John Hopkins University’ as the second most creative thing your brain can do other than fly a jet plane, builds humility and character. Rap saved my life and took me from hospital bed with shattered confidence to the big stage with Eminem, from dreams to the big screen. The main benefit of learning to rap is that it makes your mind work faster than most, you become an incredible problem solver and improviser. Your confidence grows day by day until you are able to do amazing things with words. The techniques, games and skills you will learn in this course will not just be beneficial for your social life, by helping you think quicker and feel more comfortable in situations, but they are applicable in many careers and scenarios. The skills you gain at Rap School can lead to huge, exciting careers. Not necessarily just a career in rap, I've helped young male and female rappers write their first books, write film scripts, release comic books and develop stand-up comedy careers. The ability to rap has made me a better writer and allowed me to have a successful career in music as well as careers in journalism, literature and film all from techniques and methods nurtured in my rhyme books and with a microphone rather than in a class room. With Rap I found my voice, my identity, it taught me that extremely hard skills were easy and just a matter of time but that I was capable of anything. Not everyone can rap and when you can rap as good as I am going to teach to rap, better than your heroes, then it will make you a special individual able to think fast, process more information and think 5 steps ahead. If you want to discover your voice, your true confidence and want to see what you are really capable of by doing something that is incredible fun then this is then this class is for you. With Rap school you will: 1. Learn to Freestyle 2. Learn Ride the beat 3. Learn rhyme structure 4. Learn how to compile rhymes 5. Learn how to Flow 6. Learn Multi-Syllabics 7. Learn how to write Punchlines 8. Learn the art of Battle Rap 9. Learn Internals rhymes schemes 10. Learn how to write songs 11. Learn how to rap live 12. Learn how to sing 13. Learn how to record 14. Hello! My name is Lauren, a freelance singing teacher living in London. I teach all genres and all levels, and am most concerned with meeting you where you are and reaching your vocal goals together. I have been teaching piano and voice for over ten years now, a journey which began during my undergraduate studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. I went on to study vocal pedagogy closely at Indiana University, and continued to grow my studio as I moved to study at Yale, where I joined Yale College faculty to teach the undergraduate voice students. I worked with the Glee Club, A Capella groups, and members of the community from ages 6-55. Having two master’s degrees in addition to my bachelors, I am very familiar with the pursuit of higher education, and how critical the arts is to that. Alongside this, I am of the genuine belief that music and singing are of critical importance to the developing person and humanity at large. I believe music to be such a unique opportunity to not only grow skills and mastery, but to enhance a pupil's enjoyment of life, self confidence, and all aspects of their development. Seeing the aspects of music enrich other parts of a person's life is my joy and charge as an educator. I always strive to maximise on a student's language skills, and taking a unique and individual approach to the character of each student. I am a published writer (Journal of Singing April/May 2020) where I explore the necessary adjustments and awareness a teacher must be conscious of when dealing with a person who is experiencing trauma or emotional difficulties. I take this forward into my teaching, not only for reasons of empathy, but this approach has often resulted in learning with increased efficiency and a higher chance of a student reaching their potential. Looking forward to hearing from you! Lauren
