Trusted teacher: After the first three months, babies become more wakeful and develop a new awareness and curiosity for everything around them. They will watch and listen with fascination and love to be surprised by a variety of different sounds. Repeated patterns and verses are excellent for developing rhythm and memory and of course, the simple repetitive movement in action songs are fantastic for coordination and motor skills. I am a professional opera singer, currently studying a Master's at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Having performed numerous operas, oratorios and song recitals, I have a in depth and far reaching knowledge of the classical vocal repertoire and a good command of the musical theatre repertoire. Whether you are using it professionally or for fun, I am a strong believer that establishing excellent technique is essential to developing a voice. I work from the premise that no two voices are the same and I tailor lessons to suit my students. We will work on technique, repertoire, interpretation and, where appropriate, language skills. Together, we can work on building a healthy voice and compiling a book of repertoire to help you prepare for exams or recitals. The aim of a lesson is to achieve vocal freedom, which will allow the student to approach repertoire healthily and confidently without fear of the voice giving out. Whatever age, skill level or intention for using the voice, this will ultimately make singing more enjoyable! I have experience coaching choirs and working with young people, particularly with Cambiata North West. I have given masterclasses and singing days, most recently at Saffron Walden County High School. If you would like to organise a lesson, please do not hesitate to contact me via the details on the 'Contact' tab. During the COVID - 19 lock down and social distancing period, I will be teaching remotely via Skype and Zoom. As well as singing tuition, I am also happy to tutor music theory and academic music programmes up to and including A-Level Music. For young people, the aspects of performance and study go hand in hand and I believe it is important to offer support in all aspects of music!

Throughout my whole life I have immersed myself in music and singing. At the age of 7 I started piano and vocal lessons which led to writing my own music at the age of 12. This gave me the goal of wanting to sing my own original music to an audience. I decided to apply for The Brit School for Performing Arts and Technology in London. After successfully receiving a place I studied a range of styles from jazz, pop, soul and folk as well as composition, music business and music history classes. From here I decided to Specialise in Jazz and am currently In my final fourth year at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance as a Jazz vocals student. I have played at venues all around London: in known jazz clubs such as Ronnie Scotts, The Spice of Life and Oliver’s jazz bar. I have also sung solo and been a member of cast at many famous theatre's such as at Leicester Square Theatre, Theatre Royal Haymarket, White Rock Theatre Hastings and Theatre Royal Brighton. in 2018 I travelled to Norway, studying jazz and Norwegian folk music at The Edward Grieg Academy. I now regularly visit for gigs with my band there. The music I listen to is eclectic and I am happy to work with any student who want to study all genre's of music or specialise in one. We can work on writing songs, new repertoire, technique and posture and setting any short and long term goals. In 2019 I was working in China for a few months singing at a jazz club. I have now returned to London to continue with my teaching and to finish my degree in May 2020.

Everyone can sing, everyone can write music. It's all around us; it's a form of self-expression that we all have inside us, just like verbal communication and language. If we understand music, we can speak it as well. It's only a question of how to structure what's in us, and what tools we can use to express it.

Trusted teacher: I Specialize in teaching young people to Rap. From beginner levels all the way through to having a successful music career. My name is Gavin and I'm a successful rapper, producer and bestselling author. Some may think that Rap is about ego but in reality, rap is about finding your true identity through your voice. The process of learning a skill that has been officially categorized by ‘John Hopkins University’ as the second most creative thing your brain can do other than fly a jet plane, builds humility and character. Rap saved my life and took me from hospital bed with shattered confidence to the big stage with Eminem, from dreams to the big screen. The main benefit of learning to rap is that it makes your mind work faster than most, you become an incredible problem solver and improviser. Your confidence grows day by day until you are able to do amazing things with words. The techniques, games and skills you will learn in this course will not just be beneficial for your social life, by helping you think quicker and feel more comfortable in situations, but they are applicable in many careers and scenarios. The skills you gain at Rap School can lead to huge, exciting careers. Not necessarily just a career in rap, I've helped young male and female rappers write their first books, write film scripts, release comic books and develop stand-up comedy careers. The ability to rap has made me a better writer and allowed me to have a successful career in music as well as careers in journalism, literature and film all from techniques and methods nurtured in my rhyme books and with a microphone rather than in a class room. With Rap I found my voice, my identity, it taught me that extremely hard skills were easy and just a matter of time but that I was capable of anything. Not everyone can rap and when you can rap as good as I am going to teach to rap, better than your heroes, then it will make you a special individual able to think fast, process more information and think 5 steps ahead. If you want to discover your voice, your true confidence and want to see what you are really capable of by doing something that is incredible fun then this is then this class is for you. With Rap school you will: 1. Learn to Freestyle 2. Learn Ride the beat 3. Learn rhyme structure 4. Learn how to compile rhymes 5. Learn how to Flow 6. Learn Multi-Syllabics 7. Learn how to write Punchlines 8. Learn the art of Battle Rap 9. Learn Internals rhymes schemes 10. Learn how to write songs 11. Learn how to rap live 12. Learn how to sing 13. Learn how to record 14. Learn how to Double Time (fast rap) Along the way you will find your voice, your style and true inner confidence and when you do it will be magical, and nothing will be able to stop you achieving at anything you want to do.

I am a professional singer. I received my Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from Juilliard, where I studied on a full scholarship. I've been performing since the age of 7, so I've been on stage in some form or another for 25+ years now. I teach based on personal experience. So you know that what you're learning is not just academic nonsense, it's stuff that actually works. I focus on good, healthy technique and proper, diaphragmatic breathing. Once you've got that down, then there's nothing you can't do.

I am a songwriter of 6 years experience, having written with unsigned and signed artists at every skill level. I've taken ideas from the drawing board and handed them over to producers as fully formed songs. Lessons typically run for an hour as we: - Bring and share ideas (or the lack thereof) - Gather up some inspiration - Write together - Dissect our favourite songs.
