Narrative therapy is a type of therapy in which the client is cast as a co-author, accompanied by the therapist. That said, the client is the expert in narrating their life story, emphasizing their personal meanings and lived experience. It is also known as a form of therapy that proposes the use of written and/or verbal personal narratives, both regarding the client's life and those related to the course of therapy. This is not only intended as a way of providing information to the therapist, but as part of the treatment of problems and other emerging issues for the client.
