I teach fundamental technique, musicianship and theory skills to guitar students across all popular styles of music and ability levels. These include: picking techniques, fingerstyle, ornamentation (e.g. string bends, hammer-ons, slides, glissando, trills, tremolo etc), controlling intonation, theory/harmony/chord voicings alongside developing transcription and ear training skills. My lessons incorporate the above mentioned sight-reading, improvisation and harmony areas in addition to the preparation of repertoire for upcoming auditions, assessments and showcases. I also advise on developing an individual, quality practice routine designed around their own musical goals. Current and previous students study repertoire across a range of styles including ABRSM classical grades, Ranieri books 1-2, bebop jazz guitar, solo arrangements, Asian-rock/pop, blues in addition to composition/arranging techniques and ABRSM theory.
