My work experience as a teacher is therefore linked to native Chinese speakers. I have gained experience teaching the Italian and English languages, both in China and in Italy. Since I have taught students of different ages (from 6 to 40 years old) and consequently with different needs, I am acutely aware of the need to adapt my teaching method to the different situations that arise. My lessons are carefully prepared and introduced to learners through the use of a Power Point presentation, so that they are guided step by step to understand the topic covered by the lesson and can also use the ppt for revision at home. Usually, a typical lesson of mine involves the study of a grammar topic, the carrying out of some practical exercises, the study of a part of vocabulary and the use of what was learned in lesson in concrete situations, for example by means of the role -play. A substantial part of my lessons is therefore reserved for student-teacher or student-student interaction, through the division of the class into groups which are assigned specific tasks to complete. I am aware, based on my experience, that Sinophone learners are rather shy or reluctant to speak, but motivating them, making them more confident is undoubtedly one of my duties as a teacher.
