Trusted teacher: Hi All, thank you for checking out my course. This class is open to students of all levels. Whether you are only starting to learn the wild-looking letters of the Cyrillic alphabet, or whether you are looking to practise your written and spoken Russian, I would be delighted to accompany you at any stage of your Russian-learning journey. For more advanced students, I would be happy to help you get to know one of the most defining aspects of the Russian language, namely its novels and poetry, which would be a great way to learn about the 'mysterious' Russian soul. I believe that studying in three different countries have allowed me to try out and assess various approaches to education in general and teaching languages in particular - from the rigourous Russian system based on ensuring that the students will obtain exceptional spelling, grammar, syntax and punctuation skills, to the more relaxed yet more critical and analytical Western approach, focused on problem-solving and independent work. You will get the benefit of a vast bank of techniques, methods and learning materials that I have developed and accumulated over the past year will be used in class to pique and maintain your interest. And since I was once a language student too, I would be able to share my personal tips and tricks with you to help you reach whatever goal you have set for yourself - be it being able to wow your friends and family by reciting a poem in the language of Dostoyevski, or impressing your future collegues with the thorough knowledge of Russian current affairs in their mother tongue!

Able to provide support in A-Level Psychology and English Literature. My experience: I've got extensive experience supporting others in an academic and non-academic setting. I have six years’ experience tutoring students aged 4 - 16 years old. I worked with students on their work assignments as well as setting extra work to help students reach the next level in their potential. I use scientifically-ratified methods to ensure students are working to the highest level of efficiency. I am able to work with students with SEN, using scientific tools like Pictorial Exchange Program to support students in their academic and social skills while reducing the likelihood of “meltdowns.” Over those six years, I honed my ability to break down difficult topics into easily digestible lectures for each child. By using a person-centred approach, I helped the students learn in the manner most effective to them. I have a degree in Psychology BSc from Royal Holloway, University of London (ranked 9th in the UK for Psychology). I achieved an upper-second class with honours (2:1). This includes a first-class final year project. I undertook classes such as Learning & Memory and Developmental Psychology which gave me insights into how to achieve the highest level of productivity and information retention - tools that I utilised to complete my degree. I'm currently studying Medicine. While at university, I worked as a peer mentor where I provided individualised support to first year students. My caseload of students where those who were nervous upon their acceptance to university. I aided them in their transition to university by creating a safe space for them to approach me with their academic queries and social anxieties. I have excellent interpersonal skills that allowed me to build productive relationships with my students wherein they felt comfortable approaching me when in crisis. I am currently a Recovery Worker, providing support to homeless individuals in London. I specialise in providing person-centred, personalised support to entrenched rough sleepers with particularly high and complex physical, mental and substance misuse support needs. I have an outstanding record of ensuring my clients stay off the street and move along in their recovery process. This is done by having a keen eye for assessing individuals, even those who are difficult to engage and creating realistic and productive action plans. Through my dedication to belief in uplifting others and identifying a shortfall in the care provided to my most vulnerable clients, I created a successful partnership with the Premier League’s Chelsea Football Club to provide one-to-one health and fitness support to homeless people in London. Moreover, borne from a drive to give back to my local community while at University, I organised, planned and executed a school-based programme. I partnered with Age Exchange, a charity dedicated to reducing loneliness in society's most vulnerable populations, to design a ten-week programme. I used cutting edge reminiscence arts and tactile objects to help rejuvenate the memories of those with Alzheimer’s and Dementia. I liaised with local schools and care homes to link elderly individuals with local schools. Through this, I developed my ability to communicate efficiently and effectively online by creating a weekly newsletter for my volunteers, running a community page and keeping clear and open channels of communication with all parties. The programme was a tremendous success, earning the Queen's Award for Outstanding Voluntary Service which was presented by HRH Princess Anne. Furthermore, the Mayor of Runnymede came to visit, and it was featured in the local news. For my dedication to the voluntary service, I received a Gold Passport Award from Royal Holloway, University of London. I believe I am the excellent candidate to help students fulfil their potential. I have excellent time management skills as evidenced by my exemplary community outreach work while studying towards a Bachelor of Science degree. I have the drive and patience to work with students who are struggling and the ambition to help those who would like to achieve more.

Trusted teacher: I offer you a German course that is not like the others. There are two types of courses. Here is an analogy to illustrate their respective approaches: If you travel back and forth by train every day and don't have time to wait long at the platform, imagine that you only have two options: 1) Memorise the timetable. 2) Realise that the train comes every ten minutes and that a train arrives for example at 7:00 a.m. In school pedagogy, in textbooks and in normal lessons, the first approach is used - in the course I am offering you, it is the second approach because it is more economical and faster. My offer is aimed at both pupils and adults who want to learn the German language without time-consuming detours through the madness of fruitless school methods. Learning is easy, but unlearning things that have become bad habits is extremely difficult. This makes it all the more important to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced learner, with my customised lessons you will greatly accelerate the learning process while having a positive attitude. I offer German lessons for individuals or groups (2 to 5 people). The methods are based on cognitive science and historical linguistics in particular. My modular programme can be adapted on a case-by-case basis. The converging point of these modules is your independence in spontaneous conversations in real life. What will not be covered in the course: learning lists of verbs; learning lists of nouns with articles; learning words with their translations; flashcards; doing school exercises; following the syllabus of a booklet; imposing the English grammar on the German language. What is particularly important to me: to motivate my student and to give him a learning rhythm; to encourage his creativity; to befriend him with the language; the letters and their sounds; to strengthen the memory by training the phonological loop; to teach blueprints instead of memorising sentences; to explain how the language works in order to make my student independent as quickly as possible; to eliminate common preconceptions, such as that 'der' would mean masculine and 'die' feminine, that the accusative would be a direct complement and the dative an indirect complement, that verbs would be irregular, that declension would be random and therefore would have to be learnt with each verb...; to put practice at the centre and only deal with grammar where necessary. A first lesson will give you a sound idea of my pedagogy.

Kevin is a genius, who is capable of breaking down complex concepts into manageable, useful bits. If you think of a really large basket of vegetables and fruits. You know all the nutrients are good for you, but it would be tedious to try to eat it all raw. But then, you get a juicer or blender or 'Nutribullet', and juice all those vegetables and fruits into a refreshing smoothie. You can then drink that smoothie as quickly or slowly as you wish, and still get all the necessary nutrients... That's what Kevin can do - he juices all the complex intricacies of the German language into something you can understand and digest. His methods are unconventional, but very helpful in laying a proper foundation for a successful language learning journey. Very highly recommended.

It is always a pleasure to meet Phil for our weekly online French classes. He is a patient and kind teacher and always full of energy for our class. Phil is interested in a wide range of topics, so we always have something to talk about based on an article he selected as 'homework'. What I really appreciate about his way of teaching is that he corrects me during our conversation without breaking the flow of our talk, so I can really feel my confidence in speaking French increasing each class. I woulf highly recommend Phil if you are looking for a French tutor :)

I've been taking lessons with Jo for almost a year now and they are, honestly, the favorite part of my week. Jo is patient, knowledgeable and very kind. She takes a structured approach and is able to explain concepts clearly. Jo is also very flexible, so that even when I am traveling for work we are able to keep our classes going. Jo is the type of teacher that motivates her students, even when things are difficult, and makes you want to work hard and look forward to every lesson.
