Trusted teacher: As a non-native, I am aware of the difficulties that one can encounter as a French speaker in learning Chinese. Some things that seem to go without saying for natives ask us for clarification and time that I needed, and that I wish to pass on in turn. I also know that private tuition prices are often too high for many students (as they were for me). Knowledge should be accessible, especially in private lessons. I will always make sure my rates are negotiable. You cannot learn without understanding. Too many Mandarin teachers focus on practicing modern Chinese without teaching the etymology of the characters in order to understand the evolution of such a rich language over time. Understanding the evolution of the language and its characteristics is therefore essential for me, according to the Inalco method. In the Chinese language, I think the most important thing is to focus on reading and oral comprehension, as well as oral practice through conversation above all. It is useless to make beginners repeat sentences over and over again, you have to make the language live. My course is primarily aimed at beginners, false beginners and "low-intermediate", from HSK 1 to HSK 3 approximately (between 0 and 1000 known words). I can also prepare more intensively for HSK exams at the request of students. I can teach face-to-face as well as via webcam.

Ruijiao works very professionally, the contact with her is excellent, she prepares thoroughly for the lessons and sends me the material in advance. Her pupil is my 9 years old daughter - she finds the lessons with Ruijiao so interesting that she can barely wait to have the next one. My daughter also manages to take her notes and to repeat what she learned to me:) I did not know how to tackle the idea to start learning Chinese in case of a child and now I see that we are in best hands. Penny is very professional and extremely knowledgeable about Chinese Art History. The lesson is perfectly prepared with good documentation but also with the flexibility to branch out in neighbouring subjects or drill down deeper on certain topics. I am very happy with my first class and with Yujin as a teacher. She's very outgoing and talkative, which is great for a teacher in conversation.
