I have a methodical and fun method of teaching. I prioritise learning the basics through songs people know and love. My teaching is relaxed and does not include grades or force any type of music onto students. After becoming comfortable with the basics of piano students can choose whatever they want to play and my background in Jazz piano, classical piano and popular music makes diversification easy. LESSON ARE IN PERSON AT MY LOCATION IN KINSALE OR ONLINE I teach people who aim to play for the enjoyment of music and I do not offer training for any grades or certificates, if you are unsure whether your child would like to pursue piano and scared that grades may scare them off, this is the perfect way to go. I have played piano for more than a third of my life and have experience playing classical piano, jazz piano and popular music. I perform regularly both with groups and solo. My experience with classical music comes from my grades with the Royal Irish Academy of music where I have achieved honours in grade 8 as well as a personal interest in classical music. I was a student of Kinsale local Billy Crosbie's who introduced me to jazz piano and I have been playing and learning about jazz ever since. Through this love for jazz I also began playing the saxophone to enhance my understanding of jazz music. I am currently studying post grade 8 jazz piano in CSM. I have performed popular music in Westfield, San Fransisco and locally in Cork, I play a wide variety of tunes, from Billy Joel to movie themes and classics such as Hallelujah. My teaching method encourages trying out multiple genres to enhance students awareness of music and to help students learn different techniques of learning tunes such as sight reading, comping and playing by ear.

In de zangles beginnen we met het aanleren van basistheorie over mindset, ademhaling, ademsteun,... Voor leerlingen met al enige ervaring op zangvlak gaan we meer in op verschillende soorten manieren van zingen bijvoorbeeld. kopstem, mixed-voice, emoties tijdens het zingen, microfoontechnieken,... Wil je specifiek gerichte tips voor bijvoorbeeld. optredens, muziekkeuzes,...? Dit is zeker mogelijk! Ik kijk samen met jou wat jouw noden zijn en wat je graag wilt leren. We gaan niet alleen kijken naar de stem maar ook naar 'Hoe sta ik op een podium?' of 'Hoe verminder ik stress?'. Ik ga dus ook kijken naar de mentale en emotionele aspecten. Ik help je verder op basis van al mijn muzikale bagage die ik ondertussen zelf verder uitbereid! Ik heb er super veel zin in om met jou aan de slag te gaan en samen onze zangstem verder te ontwikkelen. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the singing class we start by teaching basic theory about mindset, breathing, breath support,.... For students with already some vocal experience, we go more into different types of ways of singing for example. head voice, mixed-voice, emotions while singing, microphone techniques,.... Would you like specifically targeted tips for example. performances, music choices,...? This is certainly possible! I look together with you what your needs are and what you would like to learn. We will not only look at the voice but also at “How do I stand on stage?” or “How do I reduce stress?”. So I'm also going to look at the mental and emotional aspects. I'll help you based on all my musical baggage that I'm expanding in the meantime! I am very much looking forward to working with you to further develop our singing voice together.
