I completed a Master’s degree in Music at the University of Oxford, and later a PhD in Music at King’s College London. I have years of experience offering private and group violin lessons. I hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate and have spent some time teaching the violin to children of different age groups in schools across London. I can also provide music theory lessons for those who wish to gain an insight into the language of music and the fundamentals of music making. I teach beginners through to advanced and casual learners through to committed students. I have been trained in a school of violin playing that inherits from and follows the aesthetic standards and technical methods of great masters such as Leopold Auer and Abram Yampolsky. I pass on this knowledge and skill with absolute passion and in my maximum capacity.

* John studied music at the University of Oxford, which included world-class tutorials in composition and theory across a variety of genres. Having achieved distinction in his LTCL diploma in classical piano and grade 8+ in violin, he has taken numerous exams, for which a solid understanding of musical theory has been essential. * This class is useful for anyone wishing to take ABRSM or other boards' theory exams, or as a supplement for anyone taking GCSE or A Level music. It is recommended, though not essential, to travel to John's house in the case that students do not have a piano or keyboard.

Hi, I am Mona, nice to meet you! I am a third year music student at the University of Edinburgh. I believe that music is powerful. It helps us to work through and express our emotions, as well as connect and communicate with others. I look forward to making music with you! Piano I have played the piano for over twelve years and I started giving piano lessons three years ago. I have taught children as young as five, as well as adults. I mainly play and teach Classical music, but also enjoy and teach minimalist music and film music repertoire. I also have an interest in and teach improvisation on the piano. Songwriting/Composition/Improvisation I use songwriting, composing and improvising daily to express myself. This is my favourite part of music - Expectations go by the wayside, we are in flow and in the present moment. I have taught improvisation to my piano students and I have collaborated with others in writing songs as well as composing. Music Theory/Music History I enjoy the academic and theoretical side of music, hence why I chose to pursue my music studies at University. I write music reviews and articles for the Student newspaper, and I am just starting to write for an online music blog. I continue to study and write about music for my academic studies and did so throughout school, so I can help you with your GCSE/A level music!

Are you serious about learning to play violin? Do you want to learn how to tackle difficult violin pieces? Do you want to learn how to practise efficiently? Do you want to know how to tackle stage nerves and how to plan your time before a performance? Do you need help with fingerings and bowings for a specific piece? Online violin lessons are becoming more and more popular as they offer real convenience for a student who either wants to learn with a specific teacher who might be based in another country, or when attending lessons in person is problematic because of the student's schedule. Dunja , who has 15 years of overall teaching experience, has successfully taught via Skype and Zoom for the past 7 years. Lessons are scheduled based on the most suitable time (whatever the time zone!) for both Dunja and the student.

Trusted teacher: I'm an experienced teacher, with students of different levels/ages. I enjoy the diversity of students and understanding of their different ways of learning and goals and for me, this is the best part of the job - to know an treat each student as a unique person that they are. You'll be encouraged to make music from the very first day. Together with some necessary music theory, always applied to the instrument, you'll learn pieces of gradual difficulty. We make use of progressive tuition methods and you'll learn a solid technique by playing scales, bowing and fingering exercises and easy tunes to begin with. Repertoire includes etudes, playful and challenging concert pieces and from the very beginning duos to play with the teacher.

I’m a drummer with grade 8 Rockschool drums and grade 5 theory. 1st Class Honours graduate in Music Production & Performance living in Leeds. Combing my vast gigging experience across a range of styles from rock to Latin, orchestral groups and percussion ensembles, I know how to gear a lesson to each student. Each lesson will be tailored to each student’s requirements and preferences. I will ensure that each drummer has the accompanying level of music theory to compliment their drumming as this is an area often overlooked by perspective drummers and teachers. As a multi-instrumentalist I will also give you, the drummer, a wider approach to learning music, ensuring that you know how to complement each aspect of the music and ensemble playing. Lessons need to be and will be fun to ensure each student can develop the skills and techniques to give them the strong foundations of learning the drums.
