Joana - London£52
Trusted teacher: I'm an experienced teacher, with students of different levels/ages. I enjoy the diversity of students and understanding of their different ways of learning and goals and for me, this is the best part of the job - to know an treat each student as a unique person that they are. You'll be encouraged to make music from the very first day. Together with some necessary music theory, always applied to the instrument, you'll learn pieces of gradual difficulty. We make use of progressive tuition methods and you'll learn a solid technique by playing scales, bowing and fingering exercises and easy tunes to begin with. Repertoire includes etudes, playful and challenging concert pieces and from the very beginning duos to play with the teacher.

I have years of experience offering private and group violin lessons. I hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate and have spent some time teaching the violin to children of different age groups in schools across London. I can also provide music theory lessons for those who wish to gain an insight into the language of music and the fundamentals of music making. I teach beginners through to advanced and casual learners through to committed students. I have been trained in a school of violin playing that inherits from and follows the aesthetic standards and technical methods of great masters such as Leopold Auer and Abram Yampolsky. I pass on this knowledge and skill with absolute passion and in my maximum capacity.

Trusted teacher: Are you serious about learning to play violin? Do you want to learn how to tackle difficult violin pieces? Do you want to learn how to practise efficiently? Do you want to know how to tackle stage nerves and how to plan your time before a performance? Do you need help with fingerings and bowings for a specific piece? Online violin lessons are becoming more and more popular as they offer real convenience for a student who either wants to learn with a specific teacher who might be based in another country, or when attending lessons in person is problematic because of the student's schedule. Dunja , who has 15 years of overall teaching experience, has successfully taught via Skype and Zoom for the past 7 years. Lessons are scheduled based on the most suitable time (whatever the time zone!) for both Dunja and the student.
Trusted teacher: * John studied music at the University of Oxford, which included world-class tutorials in composition and theory across a variety of genres. Having achieved distinction in his LTCL diploma in classical piano and grade 8+ in violin, he has taken numerous exams, for which a solid understanding of musical theory has been essential. * This class is useful for anyone wishing to take ABRSM or other boards' theory exams, or as a supplement for anyone taking GCSE or A Level music. It is recommended, though not essential, to travel to John's house in the case that students do not have a piano or keyboard.

Jamie - Battersea£41
Trusted teacher: Hi students and music lovers ! Piano is a fun and rewarding way to explore music for people of all ages, whether you've played music before or not, and is one of the most accessible instruments right from the first lesson! I teach with a variety of pop-transcriptions and easy Classical pieces, simple improvisation and harmony exercises, and am comfortable adapting to each pupils own way of learning. If you're new to piano, or have played before and want to rekindle your love of music, get in touch to arrange a first lesson! I will book us a room with a grand piano at the Academy. I graduated Master’s cum laude in Piano Performance at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre studying with prof. Peep Lassmann, who was himself a student of the great Russian pianist Emil Gilels. I have 12 years' private teaching experience, and was employed by Märjamaa Music and Art School as a 1:1 piano teacher in 2018-19. I also have a BMus (Hons) degree from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and DipABRSM, the standard professional teaching qualification in the UK. Reviews from current students: "Jamie is an amazing teacher. I had no knowledge of piano before him and was worried in general of being able to learn. His way of explaining, patience and incredible passion for music gave me the push to try and are reinforcing my motivation to learn more day-by-day. Our classes are alive, fun, and so much like a continuous journey through all the aspects of piano music." - Angelyk "Jamie makes this comfortable atmosphere, you'll never be afraid to make a mistake. I learned a song already in my second/third lesson. 🙂 " - Taimi

Hello! My name is Kajsa, and I am a 21 year old vocalist and musician from Sweden. I am currently in my third and final year of University at BIMM London, where I study Popular Music Performance Vocals. I have been singing and taking vocal lessons since I was 7 years old. I have been trained both classically and commercially. I prefer the commercial training because it allows the singer to focus more on the emotion when singing instead of posture and vocal techniques. Ofcourse there is a lot of technique that goes into it which we will focus on aswell, but in todays popular music the listener is looking for an emotion and a voice they can relate to. It can’t be too perfect and classical in the commercial scene today, that removes all the rawness and emotion that the listener is looking for, in my oppinion. I want to offer my potential students a safe place where they can belt their heart out or be vulnerable in their headvoice without judgement. I know I lacked this when i was growing up into this industry, and I would love to give the confidence of not caring too much and to teach how to be brave enough to sing with 100% emotion. Not holding anything in. Singing should be fun, raw and brave. This is what i offer during my lessons. /Kajsa

Thomas - Halesowen£35
Trusted teacher: Hello! I am a musician offering tutorials in piano, trumpet, cornet, harmony, counterpoint, theory, and other general music-y things in English! I’m also available to direct rehearsals and concerts. As a composer I have a diverse range of skills. Whilst most of my work is contemporary classical concert music, I have a good grounding in tonal harmony and am experienced in writing music more typical of past eras and for events such as opening ceremonies and medals ceremonies. I also have knowledge of jazz, having worked in this genre. Lessons comprise of me examining the student's work, discussing it with them (how they've written it, what decisions they've made, what they wish the music to do and be), as well as discussing any suggestions I have to further enhance the effectiveness of the music and their ideas. Lessons can also involve examining works by other composers, giving the student inspiration and knowledge, as well as learning about different compositional techniques, which can include ways to deal with harmony, rhythm, texture, structure, and development of ideas. Please contact me to chat about your/ your child’s musical goals and ambitions and to arrange a lesson. I am able to travel to homes and offices and have a flexible schedule to meet your needs! I have also taught over Skype in the past, where there’s the option of screen sharing, making it possible to demonstrate things on screen. Thank you for reading and I hope to hear from you soon! Mario - London£24
Trusted teacher: :) Hello! I've studied at the Royal Conservatory where I followed the “Master in education”. I teach at a studio in the city center but I also do online lessons via ZOOM if you like the idea. I have a small keyboard connected to my laptop and music-making is guaranteed even online! You'll spare some money too as I will provide lesson-by-lesson all the needed books and repertoire. You can play from your screen or even print at home the necessary sheets for the lesson rather than buying unnecessary extras. I graduated cum laude in my country and specialized in violin education in The Hague. I attended masterclasses and workshops with many celebrated musicians. As an orchestral violin player, I toured all over the world from Europe to China and played with conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Wayne Marshall, John Axelrod, Pascal Rophè and many others. As a teacher, I have been teaching full-time since 2015 and got very good experience ever since. I have familiarity with all the most common syllabi such as Trinity, ABRSM or Suzuki. I like using technology but also a new repertoire with different styles in my classes, I generally follow and develop my own pupil's musical interests. If you are a total beginner without any experience or an advanced musician, this class is suited for you! :)
