I am a UK-trained violinist with a strong background in performance, orchestral playing, and teaching. What defines my teaching is precision, clarity, and care for healthy technique. I help students build a secure technical foundation while developing confidence, musical awareness, and expressive sound. I genuinely enjoy working with children and take pride in guiding them patiently and responsibly. With young students, I focus on posture, coordination, listening skills, and confidence, creating a positive and motivating learning environment from the very beginning. I also work with teenagers and adults, including returners who feel tense or stuck. My lessons are structured, calm, and highly focused, helping students understand how to practise effectively and progress with purpose. I combine high standards with a supportive and respectful approach, adapting my teaching to each student’s age, level, and goals.
My violin lessons are carefully structured to develop strong technique, musical understanding, and long-term confidence. Each lesson is adapted to the student’s age, level, and physical comfort. I identify technical issues early and address them methodically, ensuring healthy posture and efficient movement.
We work in depth on:
• posture and body balance •
•bow control and sound production
• left-hand technique, intonation, and coordination
• musical phrasing and stylistic awareness
With children, lessons are patient, encouraging, and well-paced, building discipline and confidence step by step. With older students and adults, lessons are focused, analytical, and goal-oriented. My aim is not only improvement, but to give students reliable tools they can use independently in their practice.

Luke
My name is Luke and I am a 24 year old, multi-award winning guitarist from Greenwich, London.
I am an experienced and enthusiastic teacher and am adept at all varieties of guitar playing, including, classical, acoustic, electric and bass.

Regarding my previous experience in tutoring, I have given 1000's of hours of guitar tuition both privately and in school settings. These experiences have given me a keen sense of how to motivate students and offer them concise and useful advice. I have worked at many excellent institutions in the past, including Streatham and Clapham Girls' School (one of the top private girls schools in the country), Orpington Music Studio, The Royal Arsenal School of Music and Canada Blanch Music Academy.

I have found over my experiences of being taught and then eventually teaching that the best method for getting the most out of a student is to listen. If the tutor is acutely aware of where their student needs help and where they are already confident, they can tailor classes carefully to make the best use of the time allowed and to get the maximum potential out of them. This philosophy leads to classes being student-oriented, in that the student leads the tuition. The tutor acts as a supportive crutch, first working through problems together, then allowing them to explore it themselves with the tutor to lean back on.

In my first years of training, like many others, I completed grades. Because of this I have a very good knowledge of what it takes to move along this system. However, the grade system should not be seen as the only way to learn an instrument. The same achievement can be gained through simple discussion between student and teacher and the correct prescription of pieces and studies to work on. I am more than happy to walk down whatever avenue they wish to explore.

I would love to hear from you in the future. Thank you.
