Trusted teacher: [ENGLISH BELOW] I am a Czech violinist, based in The Hague. I obtained a Master of Music degree in classical and modern violin at the Conservatory of Amsterdam with a grade of 10/10. Since then I have been working as a concert violinist, chamber musician (playing in small groups and ensembles) and as a freelancer in orchestras throughout the Netherlands. I am captain of the Doelen Ensemble in Rotterdam and a much sought-after collaboration partner for recording studios, dancers, composers of new and film music and theater makers. As a teacher I have experience in private education, special conservatory preparation and competition training, as well as as a guest teacher at the Brno Conservatory (Czech Republic). I play both classical acoustic violin and electric violin. In my classes I offer both traditional classical music training (technique and classical music pieces) based on my 20 years of work and study with leading teachers and violin virtuosos (the best of the Czech, American and Russian schools of technique), as well as lessons for those who only have enough want to learn to play and improvise with their favorite songs by their favorite singer. We will use the violin in all musical genres and base our curricula on your wishes, dreams and ambitions, always designing your tailor-made learning path together and adapting if necessary. I like to work with all ages, learning difficulties or various physical abilities; music is open to everyone and above all should be a fun way to connect with others and the world. ----------------------- I am a Czech violinist based in The Hague. Rui - The Hague£40
Trusted teacher: Hello there! Welcome to my profile. I am Rui and I teach piano. The piano is known as the most complete musical instrument of all. This is because when playing it we can get all kinds of characters and sounds: very deep basses or super soft high notes; delicate melodies or dense harmonies (almost like an orchestra sometimes). This is one of the reasons why I love to play the piano, its versatility adapts to my everyday mood. I would love to show you the wonders we can create with this amazing instrument! Lessons Every student is different, and by saying this I mean that I prepare every lesson specifically for each student. Some might be more shy, others might need more time to acknowledge some questions. I believe that music (much like everything else) should be taught with patience and motivation. You shouldn’t feel like you’re going against time, it should be the opposite. As a teacher, I always give priority to your motivation and excitement regarding the lesson’s activity. If I see that a student is not enjoying the lesson I have to improvise and turn it around. When teaching, the most important thing for me is that you learn while having fun. I have already some years of experience in giving piano lessons to people of all ages. I adapt the lesson content for every student individually, and I always give them the freedom to follow their musical taste and instincts. I also give a lot of focus to creativity and improvisation. At the end of the lesson, I usually save a few minutes for the student to decide what he/she wants to do: maybe a little 4-hand improvisation, or maybe play a piece they have already learned and that they enjoy playing. About me Most of my studies and experience as a teacher took place in Portugal. I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Piano Performance in 2020. I moved to The Netherlands in 2020 to attend the Master Program in Classical Piano Performance in the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague. My academic studies were built on classical music but I also have some experience in pop and rock music. I hope this motivates you to study piano with me! Looking forward to seeing you soon during your first lesson!

Benoit - Le Chesnay£42
Trusted teacher: Hello, my name is Benoit, I am a jazz & contemporary music guitarist and guitar teacher for more than 15 years in music schools, associations and at home. I studied Jazz at the Boulogne-Billancourt Conservatory and graduated from the American School Of Modern Music. I seek with my lessons to develop your desire to make music and your creativity. My courses and content will allow you to immerse yourself in an exciting practice. Pleasure and requirement are the keywords of my learning method. You will quickly be able to play a current, rich and varied repertoire. In addition to private lessons, I provide you with free videos, scores & tablatures. Who are the classes for? Children: From 7 years old, learning notes in a playful and progressive way. We explore music theory, tablatures, rhythm and melody thanks to card games specially developed for the youngest: recognition, 7 families, pair games, Memory, etc. Your child discovers the instrument and the technique while being able to quickly play familiar tunes! Classes usually last 30 minutes. Teen: The goal is not to spend too much time on the theoretical aspect of music theory (reading notes etc.) but to see the basic techniques of the instrument in order to be able to play and have fun quickly. From the first lessons you will play the pieces of your choice, I will guide you and accompany you. Pleasure and satisfaction guaranteed! Adults: Have you always dreamed of learning to play the guitar? You played when you were young and want to get back to it? Did the "conservatory" method disappoint you or does it not suit you? My approach and my experience will allow you to learn or deepen the instrument and your knowledge at your own pace thanks to a multitude of pieces, scores, playbacks and tutorials. This will help you to develop or perfect the essential techniques for playing the guitar and also to play a repertoire to your liking. Classes usually last 60 minutes. If you are self-employed or have flexible working hours during the day, I can come to your place of work. I can also give video lessons to coach you or if you are on the go. For what levels? Beginner: You quickly take the instrument in hand, I guide you to acquire in a few sessions the technical gestures and the basic notions in order to be autonomous with your guitar. Intermediate: You develop a repertoire in line with your tastes and desires. I advise you and challenge you to make you progress. Advanced: You improve your technique thanks to the study of statements of reference guitarists and different Jazz / Rock / Blues / Gypsy styles such as: John Scofield, Wes Montgomery, Peter Bernstein, George Benson, Django Reinhardt etc... Together we work on the writing and the balance of musical phrases, chord sequences, notions of tension and resolution, which will allow you to create your own music and refine your style. I advise you on the right software and musical software (writing/Sibelius, tabalture/Guitarpro, Recording/Ableton, creation/Reason etc...) How are the lessons going? Face to face, at your home, mine, or video, I adapt to your possibilities and your wishes. Those who wish to meet other musicians can join a group. I also organize courses (between 8 and 10 people) during school holidays, on various subjects: Deepening your repertoire, improvising with pentatonics, group games, picking techniques, etc. Do not hesitate to contact me if you want more information! Musically & see you soon! Benoît ♫

Saina - Paris£32
Trusted teacher: Beginner level : Expected duration: approximately 12 and 18 months / 1 hour of lessons per week 1. 3 or 4 music theory sessions containing instrument structure and Western notation (with a brief historical explanation of why we use this notation system today). 2. Start with the first and second music conservatory books which emphasize precise execution of notes and rhythm. Concrete listening exercises: Before explaining a musical concept, students are encouraged to listen to suggested examples of a specific form, genre, or style and express their analysis in class. 3. Teaching correct posture and how to focus on body and breathing during play. 4. Beginning of improvisation exercises based on the rhythms of Persian poems: At this level, we do not use Western notation and we rely solely on the repetitive rhythms of the poems and melodic creativity. Intermediate level : Expected duration: approximately 2 and 3 years / 1 or 2 hours of lessons per week 1. Teaching studies and technical pieces with emphasis on the use of Western notation and paying attention to verbal points that are not included in the notation (At this level, students should not have any difficulty reading notes). 2. The beginning of teaching Radif (practical repertoire of Persian music) without using notation and entirely orally. 3. Continue the listening exercises to understand the difference between modes and concepts related to Iranian music. 4. Memorize the pieces, perform them based on memory and precision of sentence logic and modal precision. 5. Improvisation exercises based on Iranian music modes. The student is asked to make musical sentences after having learned each mode (according to the logic that he has heard and learned in the pieces). 6. The first concert and professional recording experiences of the pieces taught with the advice of the teacher. Higher level : Expected duration: approximately 2 and 3 years / 1 or 2 hours of lessons per week 1. Achieve a comprehensive understanding of the modal system in Persian music through the interpretation and analysis of the Iranian musical repertoire. 2. Beginning of composition exercises based on the rhythmic and modal system of Iranian music. 3. Teaching the principle and methods of modulation in improvisation in three stages: • Listen, memorize and accurately perform the improvisations of the ancient masters. • Make a collage of phrases from the master's recorded improvisations. • Create pieces based on the common logic of improvisation in Iranian music. Additional explanation: - This planning is a completely personal method and its auditory and oral aspects are different from the academic method. - As is evident, my teaching style is based on the knowledge and ability to use European music theory while preserving the traditional and historical characteristics of Iranian music. I have two reasons for using and emphasizing learning Western notation: first, it has become the common way to write and record our music today. Substituting any other method will cause problems for the student. Second, using Western notation speeds up the training process (especially at the elementary level). From experience, the training time of those who have only been trained in the traditional and oral way is longer, and in addition, in the oral way there is no analysis in the way to train. - Traditional and oral teachings are anchored in the concepts of Iranian mysticism. The use and reference to Persian poems, the discussion of ethics, appreciation and reliability of the artist are all positive points of this method, which I also try to address in my teaching.

Can

rating green star
Can is a great teacher. I took my first guitar lesson with him after learning to play easy things on my own for two years and getting stuck on more difficult things. Can teaches music and guitar from a point of view that makes sense and makes it easier to understand how everything is structured. He can easily pick up mistakes from your playing, point out things to improve and provide excercises to work on those. After only few meetings I feel I have better understanding on the theory behind guitar playing, I feel I have improved technically after being stuck with my progress for quite a while, and I have a drive to learn more again. Would definitely suggest lessons with Can!
