On my lessons you will find a safe space to learn the basis of the technique of the instrument as well as how to enjoy to play the oboe! Reed workshops, playing solo pieces as well as duos with oboe and piano accompaniment. My aim is to work on little stages on each lesson, focused on improving different aspects of your playing. From technical exercises to even your own compositions! The ideal lessons to develop your imagination and creativity as well as making easier to play this complex but amazing instrument!

I'm an oboe player who recently graduated from the Masters at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam where I as well have done my bachelor degree. I'm from Mexico and I've been living in the Netherlands for over 7 years. I love working with kids but as well with adults and any person who's motivated and willing to learn this beautiful instrument at any level. I can teach you how to read notes, rythms, harmonies, etc. I speak Spanish, Engllish, French, Italian and some Dutch. Depending on your goals we can make a fun programme and play any kind of music you are interested on!

During my oboe lessons, enjoying music is central. The double reed plays an important role in both the sound and the ease of playing the oboe. I make sure there is always a reed that plays nicely. In addition, I will pay a lot of attention to the way of blowing. This is the basis that ensures that the students can have fun and make music right from the start. . Making music together is the best thing there is, so I like to play along with the students in a duet. I guide advanced students in developing their (musical) creativity and, if they wish, I offer reed lessons. In these lessons I give tips for updating reeds and explain all the steps of the reed making process.

Most importantly though I try to convey my passion for this unique instrument and support my student on his personal journey of learning and growth. In order to create beautiful music, you will not only have to master playing the instrument but also making high quality reeds. Thats why also offer lessons on the craft of reed making, from the basics of making your first reed to perfecting concert grade reeds. My piano lessons cover a wide range of musical styles from Classical music, through Jazz all the way to contemporary pop music, depending on the students interests. Depending on the needs of the student the teaching can include and focus on different technical aspects such as finger flexibility, music theory or improvisation.
