Trusted teacher: I aim to help students develop their voices healthy while nurturing their passion for music. Although not everyone has an excellent singing gift, I believe that everyone can be an excellent performer on their own stage. I will teach students following their aptitude and will not be too harsh on students. However, I will treat every student fairly and will not leave anyone behind. I will set goals for students based on their level and have certain requirements. I hope that students can be happy in the learning process, truly master knowledge, and share music's truth, goodness, and beauty! I am glad that many of my students have achieved good results in examinations, including ABRSM and Trinity College London Grades and Diploma exams, and winning prizes in competitions, including Holmfirth Musical Festival, Newcastle-U-Lyme Festival of Music, Leamington Spa Competitive Festival, Hounslow Festival of Music, Longwell Green & Kingswood Performing Arts Festival, Coulsdon and Purley Festival, Basingstoke Music Festival, and more. I consider myself to be a wide-ranging opera and concert soloist. Passionate about opera, I have sung more than 30 operatic roles and performed for opera companies in Asia and Europe in many major theatres and festivals, including Opera Hong Kong, Musica Viva, Winslow Hall Opera, OperaUpClose, Tête à Tête: The Opera Festival, Passaggio Oper, Opéra de Baugé and more. My operatic roles include Macbeth(Macbeth), Tonio(Pagliacci) and Escamillo(Carmen), among many others. On the concert platform, my past engagements include Haydn's Nelson Mas(Really Big Chorus/Hong Kong Police Choir), J.S. Bach's Magnificat in D Major(Hong Kong Oratorio Society/Village Voices UK), Felix Mendelssohn's Die erste Walpurgisnacht(Hong Kong Oratorio Society), Handel's Messiah(Hong Kong SingFest), Faure's Requiem(Chesterfield Co-operative Choral Society), Brahms's Ein deutsches Requiem(The Guild Consort Choir). I received a postgraduate certificate from Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, Hungary, and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, where I was awarded the St Clare Barfield Memorial Bowl for Operatic Distinction. Prior to that, I gained my Bachelor of Music from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. I am also an experienced singing teacher for all ages. Besides teaching singing privately for more than 10 years, I was also a music tutor at Parkland Music Limited, Greenery Music & Arts Centre and Canon Music & Arts Centre in Hong Kong. In 2016, I have successfully organized "No Vocalists Allowed" opera workshop, and coached non-vocal major students to sing and perform an opera scenes concert at the New Lecture Theatre at Birmingham Conservatoire. I have also worked as an assistant vocal coach in K. Wah Opera Hong Kong summer school programme 2017, where I trained young performers to participate in Elf the Musical Jr production.

In our lessons, we work to strengthen and create flexibility in areas of the voice that need improvement. Vocal registration, breathing/support, vowel formation, postural alignment, and dynamic control are the major focus of the technical work. My teaching is rooted in the Bel Canto technique, and I incorporate other techniques such as Speech Level Singing (SLS), Alexander technique, yoga, and mindfulness practices. I believe in constant education as a teacher, and am always seeking ways to add value to my students. Singing is a whole body & mind activity. I believe that in order to sing at our highest level, we must address all aspects of our instrument, which includes not only our voices, but our physical, energetic, and psychological state. It is impossible to train the voice separate from the whole, and with improved functioning of each area, voices flourish and expand. Private voice lessons are a commitment to yourself and your goals. When you invest in yourself and your singing, other areas of your life improve symbiotically in response to the awareness you gain. As your technique and performance improve, possibilities expand for your life and career. I truly believe that by changing your voice, you can change your life! As your teacher, I will support you on your path to vocal mastery by helping you build the necessary technical skills. I will help you remove old technical habits and thought processes that can block your progress. Often, I will guide you away from your comfort zone and challenge your beliefs about your own voice. This may involve making sounds that are "ugly" or difficult. It takes this kind of work to retrain the body's habitual patterns. I ask for an open mind and commitment to process. It is an honor to take this vocal journey with you, and I so look forward to being your guide!

Trusted teacher: I confirm the efficiency of my work by demonstrating the results "before/after". I prefer working with people who have professional prospects and want to sing in the opera house. First of all, watch the video "before and after" of my students. They will say the best about the content of my lessons and my qualification. If they are unconvincing for you, no regalia and achievements will convince you. We just don't suit each other. It is ok. If it is important to you how the teacher sings himself - watch also the video with my singing. I will add just some points with which I can help you. I will not say banal things about breathing, resonators, etc. There is enough of this nonsense on the Internet without me. Maybe you are studying at a college /university/conservatory or have already completed your studies, but are dissatisfied with your singing technique? Maybe you can't decide on the type of your voice in any way? Some teachers define you as a tenor, while others define you as a baritone, etc.? Maybe your throat hurts when you sing and/or your voice gets tired quickly and/or the high/low notes disappear (at the same time, the doctor says that your vocal folds are healthy, which means that the problem is in vocal technique)? Or maybe you just realize that you are not singing with a full and free voice and would like to understand how to fix it? I can help you in these situations. And also to develop your vibrato and range and teach you agility, soft singing, dynamic control and everything else. And also, what is an indicator of the effectiveness of a singing teacher (the results of students BEFORE and AFTER; the level of SINGING of the teacher) and what is NOT (regalia and "loud" names of students; the level of a teacher's CAREER). Of course, a great career is great. When it is based on excellent singing, first-class acting and impeccable musicality. And not on the number of followers on Instagram. (However, as an addition to all of the above, this is not bad). I am mainly working on voice development and solving your technical problems. I create the "foundation" of your professional skill - the right vocal technique. Since only it allows the Artist to be free and expressive in his Art.
