GCSE and IGCSE Physics Tuition covers teaching and revising theoretical and practical aspects of the exam specification. Electronic resources, practice exam questions and video clips to consolidate the development of practical skills are covered in lessons. I base my tutoring on the student's needs, developing their prior knowledge, building confidence in their learning and problem solving skills whilst developing exam technique. At the moment all tuition is at my home or is online using Skype or Zoom for audio and a video link. I use an interactive whiteboard that permits PDF/Power Point slides and electronic documents to be used during lessons. A PDF of all the pages is downloaded for students to help them with note taking and as for revision in the future. Additional help sheets and practice questions can be supplied to help with developing learning and exam technique. I develop the student's learning experience at school and provide additional resources and practice questions. My students are encouraged to develop their knowledge and an appreciation of what examiners require by developing their assessment for learning skills. I enjoy tutoring and my students have all benefited enormously from individualised support in preparation for their examinations. Tutees enjoy their tutorial style lessons which are normally 1 hour in duration, but longer times can be arranged if required. Group tuition can be arranged and a sliding scale for the tuition fee will be applied depending on the number of students involved.

Trusted teacher: I prefer to teach in a way where I first briefly discuss the material with the student(s), then have the student do assignments and at the point that the student gets stuck, or I see that something is not quite right the student continues to explain the material, or to explain certain SMART FEATURES that are not in the book. It is very important for students to have CONFIDENCE towards their tests. That is why creating more confidence among the student is one of the goals during tutoring. For me it is important that the student really UNDERSTANDS the material WELL. So I will also ask a lot why the student gives a certain answer, whether it is a right or wrong answer. This teaches a student to reason his or her answers well and to think carefully about the answer given. The student also often corrects himself before I have said anything, if the answer was wrong. I also think it is important that the student does not dread the extra lessons, there should also be room for fun assignments, where the material is applied in a fun way. To achieve this, I sometimes try to come up with assignments myself, or find examples in the world around us that relate to the subject matter, in a more INTERESTING AND CHALLENGING FORM than in the book. The aim of this is for the student to enjoy the subject matter more.
