I am a French and Brazilian tutor, specialised in tutoring students French and Portuguese and helping them prepare for exams such as the DELF/ DALF and IB (in French) and the CIPLE/DAPLE (Portuguese). Last year I have become an IB French teacher for The International Sharing School, and I am currently working part time as an online French teacher for MyLingoTrip School. Therefore my schedule is flexible and I am actively accepting new students. I have tutored several adults and young professionals in Portuguese and French, for the past 5 years. With more then 4 languages in my arsenal and an intensely multicultural background, I have a mature knowledge about the broad senses of language and a great mastering of its nuances. With years of professionalism, translation practice and teaching, my skills and resources allow me to help anyone reach their goal! Furthermore, in my language education roles, I focus on students who have the goal to work in French or Portuguese speaking countries, so I have tailored my curriculum in order to allow them to rapidly develop relevant business communication skills. My classes are really dynamic and I can easily adapt to what the student is looking for (improving grammar, vocabulary, written skills, conversations). I see language as something very stimulating and playful to learn. It is truly helpful to learn new communication skills, for the everyday life but also for improving new connections, professional opportunities and travels around the world. I am very patient and always strive for improvement. I am looking forward to hearing from you, and do not hesitate if you have any questions. I am here for you!

Aló / Hola / Hey! I’m Ryan — and yes, in Portuguese it sounds like “LION,” just swap the LI for a HI. 😊 I’m a PhD language educator with over a decade of experience teaching Spanish, Portuguese, and Academic English at every level — from absolute beginners to advanced university students and professionals. I earned my Ph.D. in Latin American Literature and Culture from the University of Texas at Austin, one of the leading institutions for language pedagogy in the U.S. Since 2024, I have held a position as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. I’ve taught at major universities including the University of Michigan, University of Texas-Austin, Villanova, and Thomas Jefferson University. My experience includes everything from foundational grammar and conversation courses to advanced writing, medical Spanish, Portuguese for Spanish speakers, and culturally focused seminars on race, media, and society in the Spanish and Portuguese-speaking world. Beyond the classroom, I’ve worked extensively as a professional interpreter and translator in Spanish and Portuguese, supporting migrants, asylum seekers, educators, and public institutions. I’ve also lived and worked across South America and bring real-world cultural experience into every lesson. Whether you're: starting from scratch, preparing for travel, strengthening academic writing, building professional fluency, maintaining a heritage language, or refining advanced grammar and style, I tailor lessons to your goals with clarity, structure, and encouragement. My teaching style is rigorous but relaxed — we work hard, we laugh, and you leave each session feeling more confident than when you arrived. When I’m not teaching, you’ll probably find me biking, rock climbing, birding, or playing guitar. I’d love to help you reach your language goals. Let’s get started! -Ryan

My name is Nicolas, and I am a Brazilian Portuguese teacher with eight years of teaching experience. I have been speaking Portuguese for about ten years now. I learned the language while living in Brazil for several long periods, both for study and work. I am currently living there again. Having also gone through the process of learning to speak this language, I am well aware of the different stages my students go through. This helps a lot. My lessons are tailor-made to achieve personal goals and are adapted to the specific needs of each student. Practice is prioritized throughout the learning process in order to gain autonomy as quickly as possible. Grammar is also covered, depending on the student's level. This course is aimed at: - Beginners (basics, conversation, travel); - Intermediate/advanced learners (improvement, exam preparation); - Professionals (business Portuguese, interview preparation). Currently based in Brazil, I am teaching my classes online. I will be back in Geneva in mid-December for in-person classes. Please don't hesitate to contact me for more information. Looking forward to hearing from you :)
