Private language lessons: Portuguese and SpanishTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Whether you want to learn, improve or deepen your knowledge of a language, you're in the right place! Holding two master's degrees in Romance and Germanic languages and literatures, I have over 18 years of experience in teaching languages at primary, secondary and university levels. Specializing in culturally diverse educational contexts, I have lived and taught in Latin America (Ecuador and Brazil), the United States, Spain, and Dutch-speaking Belgium. These experiences have allowed me to reach a near-native level in Portuguese, Spanish, English, and Dutch. My goal is first and foremost to develop your understanding of the language, so that oral expression can develop gradually and with confidence. How ? Through dynamic and contextualized teaching methods: concrete activities, role-playing and interactive exercises. I combine a strong linguistic knowledge with modern and innovative teaching methods, based on immersion, contextual learning, and everyday life situations. I place particular importance on the active participation of learners, both orally and in writing. I primarily use the immersion method: lessons are conducted in the target language, allowing for natural and effective progress. Of course, you can use your native language to ask questions if needed. These scientifically recognized approaches promote both rapid and lasting learning. My courses are structured, interactive, and fully tailored to the specific needs of each learner, guaranteeing concrete results. Each course is custom-designed to meet your specific needs and goals. My sessions are dynamic, structured, and engaging, guaranteeing rapid and significant progress. With a great capacity for adaptation, I establish a relationship of trust with my learners. My patience, empathy, and professionalism will encourage you to surpass yourself.

Portuguese Classes with Native Teacher (Brasil) – Conversation and grammarTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Portuguese Classes with Native Teacher (Brzzil) – Individual Classes in Brussels Are interested in expanding your vocabulary, in improving your writing or communication skills? I’m here to help. I'm a native brazilian, and I've been teaching portuguese as a foreign language for more than 5 years. In my trajectory, I've worked with people interested in traveling and tourism, people working in international companies and students preparing to go to brazilian universities or doing proficiency exams. My background education is in Cultural Studies and Arts, which makes literature and language a real passion. Besides portuguese, I speak fluently english and spanish, and I have some basic knowledge in french. The classes are always designed according to the interests and objectives of each student. I believe in a multiple approach to language learning, which means that I often include materials related with lusophone culture such as films, music and literature. Classes are dynamic and flexible – which means that there is always space to adapt the content to the necessities of the student or the mood of the day. :) At this moment, due to a high demand of work, I'm only able to offer classes for students that have already a basic kowledge of protuguese, or focused on conversation.

Portuguese and Brazilian foreign language for adults at home or at home.Translate this text using Google Translate.

Portuguese and Brazilian foreign language for adults at home or at home.Translate this text using Google Translate.

Portuguese is part of the family of Latin languages, including Ibero-Romance languages, such as Spanish (or "Castilian"), Catalan and Galician. His accent is closer to Catalan and Galician (which shares the same roots) and the pronunciation of certain words has some peculiarities: the letter ç (with the cedilla) is used before the "a", the "o" and the "u" (as in French); the circumflex accent is used on the vowels for the pronunciation of the closed vowels ("â" as Câmara, "ê" as pêssego - and as "summer" - and "ô" as avô - and as "eau"); the acute accent (') is used for the pronunciation of open vowels (the grave accent is rarely used), such as' á' (água), 'é' (p- or 'head') and 'ó' ( as mó); the tilde (~) is used on the letters ã (as mãe or pão) and õ (as põe) to indicate a nasal pronunciation of these vowels; Portuguese uses many oral diphthongs, such as "ai" (pai), "ei" (as lei), "oi" (as boi), "ui" (as Rui), and "iu" (as viu); the letter "s" is pronounced like "ch" at the end of the words (as francés or pessoas) or before a consonant (as estar or esperança). When the letter "s" is at the beginning of the words (like sapo) or in case of double consonant (like passado), it is pronounced like the French word "sac". If the letter "s" is between two vowels (like casa) it is pronounced like the letter "z" (like "zero"). Portuguese has two official standards: the Portuguese standard and the Brazilian standard (no, the "Brazilian" does not exist!). Each official standard has differences in emphasis (more open in Brazil than in Portugal), vocabulary and some syntactic structures. In addition to these two official standards, Portuguese also has a great variety of accents and a great wealth of vocabulary, especially in Portuguese-speaking African countries, as well as in Asia or Oceania.

Fernando is an excellent teacher, I highly recommend taking his classes. He is well-structured and I enjoyed his teaching style. He clearly identifies your most recurring mistakes and helps you progressively get rid of them. Classes are very varied (reading, listening, speaking, ...) and he is very flexible so as to focus on the aspects you want to improve most. I made a lot of progress and got more confident speaking in Portuguese. What made his classes the most enjoyable is that he is a very nice person and great to talk to. As I said, highly recommend!

Leila is such a lovely person and a superb teacher. My first lesson was on a cold wet day, and Leila offered me a cup of tea and sunny smile. I thoroughly enjoyed my first lesson. Leila was so professional and organised throughout, while also creating a relaxed atmosphere which made me feel very comfortable and allowed me to try my best with my basic Portuguese! 10/10!
