Portuguese and Brazilian foreign language for adults at home or at home.Translate this text using Google Translate.

Portuguese is part of the family of Latin languages, including Ibero-Romance languages, such as Spanish (or "Castilian"), Catalan and Galician. His accent is closer to Catalan and Galician (which shares the same roots) and the pronunciation of certain words has some peculiarities: the letter ç (with the cedilla) is used before the "a", the "o" and the "u" (as in French); the circumflex accent is used on the vowels for the pronunciation of the closed vowels ("â" as Câmara, "ê" as pêssego - and as "summer" - and "ô" as avô - and as "eau"); the acute accent (') is used for the pronunciation of open vowels (the grave accent is rarely used), such as' á' (água), 'é' (p- or 'head') and 'ó' ( as mó); the tilde (~) is used on the letters ã (as mãe or pão) and õ (as põe) to indicate a nasal pronunciation of these vowels; Portuguese uses many oral diphthongs, such as "ai" (pai), "ei" (as lei), "oi" (as boi), "ui" (as Rui), and "iu" (as viu); the letter "s" is pronounced like "ch" at the end of the words (as francés or pessoas) or before a consonant (as estar or esperança). When the letter "s" is at the beginning of the words (like sapo) or in case of double consonant (like passado), it is pronounced like the French word "sac". If the letter "s" is between two vowels (like casa) it is pronounced like the letter "z" (like "zero"). Portuguese has two official standards: the Portuguese standard and the Brazilian standard (no, the "Brazilian" does not exist!). Each official standard has differences in emphasis (more open in Brazil than in Portugal), vocabulary and some syntactic structures. In addition to these two official standards, Portuguese also has a great variety of accents and a great wealth of vocabulary, especially in Portuguese-speaking African countries, as well as in Asia or Oceania.

Brazilian Portuguese for Spanish Speakers | Conversation, Grammar and PronunciationTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Brazilian Portuguese for Spanish Speakers | Conversation, Grammar and PronunciationTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Hello! I'm Enilson, a Portuguese teacher and graduate in Foreign Languages. Whether you're starting from scratch or already have some knowledge of Portuguese but still don't feel confident speaking, I can help you develop more confidence and fluency. My classes are structured and organized, following a clear path so that you learn the most important aspects of Brazilian Portuguese: grammar, vocabulary, authentic everyday pronunciation and also the culture of Brazil. I enjoy working with a variety of topics, such as Brazilian culture, travel, music, film, health, family, conversation, and grammar, always in a dynamic and engaging way. I respect each student's learning pace and adapt the lessons to their goals, creating a welcoming and motivating learning environment. For five years I studied at a federal university in Brazil and specialized in teaching Spanish to Brazilians. This training provided me with a solid foundation in teaching methodologies and allowed me to understand how the process of learning a new language occurs. I currently work primarily with Spanish-speaking students, so I'm familiar with the most common difficulties they face when learning Portuguese. Furthermore, since I also speak Spanish, I can clearly explain the differences between the two languages and patiently guide you through the learning process. Besides being a teacher, I was also a student of Spanish and, more recently, of English. That's why I understand the challenges of learning a new language and know how to make that process easier, more natural, and more efficient. In my classes you will find: ✅ Well-organized and structured classes. ✅ Real conversations about topics of interest. ✅ Classes tailored to your needs and goals. ✅ Focus on fluency and confidence when speaking. ✅ Clear explanations and lots of practice. In the first classes we will use simple and interesting materials, such as songs, videos, short texts and practical activities, to expand your vocabulary and facilitate your first contact with Brazilian Portuguese. As you progress, we will use Portuguese more and more during lessons, naturally strengthening your understanding, pronunciation, and fluency. Every student learns differently. That's why I adapt the classes to your goals and your learning pace, whether it's for traveling, working, studying, communicating more naturally, or deepening your language skills. Book your first class and let's build together a practical, dynamic and personalized path for you to speak Portuguese with increasing confidence and fluency!

Fernando is an excellent teacher, I highly recommend taking his classes. He is well-structured and I enjoyed his teaching style. He clearly identifies your most recurring mistakes and helps you progressively get rid of them. Classes are very varied (reading, listening, speaking, ...) and he is very flexible so as to focus on the aspects you want to improve most. I made a lot of progress and got more confident speaking in Portuguese. What made his classes the most enjoyable is that he is a very nice person and great to talk to. As I said, highly recommend!

It’s a pity there isn’t more stars because Andre deserves it. The experience is excellent. What Andre does is find out what you’re interests are and he builds his lesson plan around this and then very knowledge that you need. I’m also a teacher of a different discipline and I am so impressed with what he does with his lesson plans. Couldn’t recommend him more if I wanted. Also has a great understanding of man languages. He’s a name for the future I think. Excellent teacher and highly recommended for beginners to university level. He will get you through.

Miguel, is a very friendly and flexible teacher. The advantage of one-on-one lessons is that you can move to topics you really want to, or need to address, quite naturally. Miguel does this very well and adapts to your needs, often in quite an innovative manner. We use the standard Portuguese text book as a basis, but have a lot of fun doing different things around that: whether it is specific grammatical points, pronunciation, or structured conversation.
