Nicolas - Zurich£153
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We can work in: -Repertoire and interpretation. -Preparation for concerts and admissions to Conservatories or Universities. -Also musical reading and renaissance tablature. -Also Jazz, bossa nova and tango. -Music theory My classes are for: -Amateurs and advanced students. -Kids, young people, and adults. I can teach in English, Spanish, and High German. More about my classes My guitar teaching model is based on books and the approach of guitarist and pedagogue Abel Carlevaro. In some way, it is about understanding and analyzing the nature of the movements we make to play the guitar in the simplest way possible. Just as to build a building you need a good foundation, to build a system of skills that allows us to be musicians, we need to know and practice in a conscious way all the movements we do. These movements are what we do when we play just one open string or what we need to do to play the most difficult piece of the repertoire. I pay special attention to achieve a good balance in teaching. I try to make the student develop at the same time the techniques to play the guitar and the artistic sensibility needed to make music. Because no matter the technical level of the student, my classes will always be oriented to making music and to be able to enjoy the processes that the musical activity involves. A simple guitar piece takes on another dimension if the basic principles of musical interpretation are applied. After getting to know and listening to how my students play I propose a short and medium term work plan. This plan is presented taking into account the objectives and wishes of each student. Exercises and pieces are included that will also allow to know the repertoire of the guitar. Therefore, each work plan includes specific and general contents.

Let's start from zero together! This class is designed for those with no prior knowledge of the language. We will learn the essential basics in a clear and enjoyable way: how to introduce yourself, order at a café, ask for directions, and use the most important verbs in the present tense. We will use images, real-life situations, and simple conversations. Don't be afraid to make mistakes—this is the perfect place to do it! My goal is to give you the confidence to express yourself from the very beginning. 2. For Conversation and Fluency (Category: Conversation, Vocabulary, Italian) Class Title: Let's Talk! Everyday Conversation Lessons Description: Do you already know some Italian but are afraid to speak? This class is for you! We will choose topics that you are passionate about: current affairs, travel, culture, Italian cuisine, or TV series. I will gently correct you and teach you natural idioms to help you sound like a true native speaker. Grab a cup of coffee (or tea!) and let's practice together in a relaxed atmosphere. 3. For Grammar and Precision (Category: Grammar, Academic Italian, Writing) Class Title: The Secrets of Italian Grammar: Clear and Stress-Free Description: Do the subjunctive mood, reflexive verbs, and prepositions confuse you? This class will transform grammar from an obstacle into a strength. We will tackle one rule at a time with clear explanations, practical examples, and targeted exercises. Each lesson focuses on a single topic (e.g., "The Subjunctive Today" or "Why do we say 'a me mi'?") for solid and deep learning. Perfect for students of all levels who want to write and speak with precision and confidence.

Nick's approach is patient and thorough, informative and imaginative as well. He always comes up with his own examples in order to test my knowledge on a given exercise and helps me get to the answer at my own pace, rather than handing it to me. He doesn't use a one-size-fits-all method, but rather tailors his lesson in order to get out my full potential, even in a field I find difficult. He makes himself available for additional questions and is overall great to work with!

Zeljana

Zeljana is very good teacher. She immediately found flows in my guitar technique during first lesson, which I know that I'm doing, but it was too uncomfortable for me to change my bad habits before. She shows me the best ways how to improve over it. After first lesson I can already feel that I can progress enourmously with her tutoring. Lesson are very comfortable. You don't need to feel nervous at all. Finally I can very recommend Zeljana.

Cécile is a wonderful teacher. My children started to learn French last week and they totally love it. Cécile engages them in a lot of fun games and makes sure that they both understand everything. We are looking forward to many more classes with Cècile.
