Living in Amsterdam since 2019, I’m 28 years old and have a background that bridges culture and language. I have worked as a TV program editor, and I hold both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Art History, with a specialization in Modern French Literature.

Passionate about the French language, its literature, and its rich imagination, I offer engaging and culturally immersive lessons where we learn through books, images, and real-life situations.

About Me

I’m 28 years old and have been living in Amsterdam since 2019.
As a native French speaker, I truly enjoy sharing my language and culture with others. Teaching French allows me to stay connected to my mother tongue and to pass on my love for it to students of all ages and backgrounds. Whether through conversation, literature, or everyday life, I believe language learning should be both meaningful and enjoyable.

In addition to teaching French, I also have a background in jazz piano, which I studied for several years. I’m now excited to share this passion as well, especially with French-speaking students in Amsterdam who are curious to explore music in a relaxed and creative way.

Experience / Qualifications

I have several years of experience working with children.
I taught French and study methods to a small group of children aged 11, 9, and 6, as well as to two young boys aged 10 and 8. These experiences allowed me to develop a creative and adaptive teaching approach, always centered around curiosity, play, and confidence-building.

In addition to working with children, I also helped a high school student prepare for her French Literature Baccalauréat, which she passed successfully.

Alongside teaching, I’ve worked as a television program editor in France, and I hold a Master’s degree in Art History and Archaeology, with a specialization in Modern French Literature. My academic background, combined with my love of language and culture, shapes a rich and engaging learning experience for each student.

My name is Marine, I'm 28 years old and I've been playing the piano since I was 12. A graduate of the Chantilly Departmental Conservatory in France (training obtained alongside my baccalaureate), I also studied jazz for two years in a specialized school, then in jazz piano classes at the conservatory. My belief is that each student is different and requires a tailor made lesson to meet that student’s needs and goals. Every class is personalised for your own profile and is adapted as needed. I give priority to conversation, convinced that even from the very first day, one can start to communicate in the new language and thus gain confidence to go on.

I base my courses on the four essential competencies: speaking, listening, writing and reading, always focusing on your personal goals and motivation. I progressively integrate phonetics, grammar, conjugation, vocabulary in the courses which always include practical exercises. You will also learn a lot about the culture as it is deeply linked to the language.

The pedagogic materials I choose are mostly created for native speakers : texts from literature, newspapers, radio podcasts, videos, songs.... Indeed, I am convinced that the learning process has to tackle « real subjects », as languages are alive and constantly changing.
