About Me
I am classically trained professional viola/viola player. I graduated from my masters at Conservatorium Maastricht a year ago. I have been studying, performing and teaching music over 10 years.
I love teaching as well as performing. Therefore, I am very enthusiastic toward my students and I believe that the best way of teaching to my students should contain hard work as well as fun!

– we work on improving timing, sound, interaction, dynamics, independence, stick and foot technique.
– select your favorite music and play along.
– jamming with 2 drum sets, with guitar and drums or bass guitar and drums.
– expand your drum set with percussion instruments and sound objects.
– learn to read and write notes
– we end the school year with a summer concert for parents and friends.

– learn to play on an electronic drum set and get to know all the benefits of e-drums
– the use of effects on acoustic or electric drums (such as loops, reverb, delays, distortion, harmonizers)
– playing synthesizers using your drum kit (via triggers)

logic:

ABOUT ME:

Joan Fort (1997) is a Spanish jazz guitarist and composer based in Amsterdam. He holds a Master’s degree in Jazz Guitar from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and Temple University (Philadelphia).
He also coursed the prestigious course Tribeca Jazz Institute in New York in the Fall 2024.

During his studies, he trained with world-renowned artists such as Peter Bernstein, Pasquale Grasso, Jesse van Ruller, Dick Oatts, Mike LeDonne, Grant Stewart, Carl Allen and Bruce Barth, among others, gaining a deep understanding of jazz tradition while exploring a more contemporary approach to improvisation.

His co-led project, The Dam Jawn, released its debut album Master St. (2023, Challenge Records), featuring jazz legend Dick Oatts. The album, nominated for the Edison Jazz Award 2024, was presented in Europe and India, including performances in Mumbai, Goa, and Bangalore. In July 2024, the group performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival with
Jeremy Pelt as a special guest. Later that year, they released their second album, Forward! (2024, Cellar Live). Their third studio album, recently recorded with Jeremy Pelt, is set for release in the Fall 2025.

In January 2025, Joan released his first album as a leader, So Far, So Good (Fresh Sound Records), which was showcased during a European tour in May 2025, covering Germany, Spain, Poland, the UK, the Netherlands, and France, with jazz icon Vincent Herring on alto saxophone as a special guest. His upcoming second album as leader, Hangin’ In, was recorded in New York with an all-star lineup including Grant Stewart, Michael Weiss, David Wong, Aaron Kimmel, and
rising tenor saxophonist Daniel Cohen as a special guest. Besides, he's just recorded another album with his trio and Vincent Herring which will be released next year 2026.
