Hello! My name is Sten Mulder Gaton, 23 years old and a Spanish Teacher HBO student.
I started giving Spanish tutoring in 2022, and that's when I discovered that I really enjoy it!

By now, I have tutored all kinds of students, from first-year high school students to retirees, from the unemployed to investors, from Indonesians to Americans (this means I can also teach in English). What the students enjoy most about the lessons is the energy I put into them, which motivates them and, of course, leads to good results.

From the age of one to eight, I lived in various parts of Spain, which means I speak the language fluently and recognize the differences well. You will not only receive help with the Spanish language, but also learn a bit of history and the connection between Spanish and other languages; these are taught using mnemonics that are guaranteed to help you make tremendous progress in learning Spanish!

I am a very friendly, helpful, and social person; I have always enjoyed interacting with people. This also creates a good atmosphere during the lesson, which I find very important.

My teaching style is unique compared to the teachers I have worked with. I focus purely on your learning goal, without difficult grammar exercises. I also teach you handy reading methods and use 'psychological' tricks so that you learn Spanish at a rapid pace!

In my experience, a 2-hour lesson is the maximum duration. After 2 hours of lessons, your concentration decreases. I try to teach you as many different aspects of the Spanish language (and appropriately, the History and Geography of Spain) as possible within that time.

What really motivates me about tutoring is the joy I see in the students and the progress they make. This makes me incredibly proud and determined to continue teaching the Spanish language. I am also taking Module C (highest level) at the Instituto Cervantes, which provides me with tips on teaching and conveying the material. This module provides me with a certificate as compensation.
