I have also studied abroad, so I have a C2 level in English (with the Proficiency Certificate). I am a native Spanish speaker from Barcelona, who also speaks English and Catalan fluently. I additionally have some German and French knowledge. I am currently studying at the Denmark University of Technology. (Skype/Zoom available) I moved to the US a few years ago for professional reasons, it was very difficult to apply everything I had learned in traditional English schools to my everyday life. I quickly realized that the system that schools often use does not reflect the human learning process. As children, we first learn a few words and over time we develop language skills through mistakes and a fearless approach to the language. It is only later, at school, that our communication skills are refined. So why should we memorize the correct tenses and sentence constructions right from the start if we can not express ourselves yet? When we learn a new language, we often spend a lot of time constructing the perfect sentence in our head instead of speaking it.

I am a native teacher from Barcelona, with a degree in History and as a Spanish teacher for foreigners. I have been teaching Spanish and Catalan private lessons for over 10 years, but I’ve also taught in the context of cultural associations and the French and Catalan national education. As a teacher, I am very interested in letting my students learn not only the language but also the Catalan culture, as it is a fundamental aspect to really be able to succeed in the learning process. In order to do so, we will work on all the different competences (oral and writing skills), grammar and vocabulary, of course, but also I like to use some real texts, videos, songs, etc., so we can get the chance to learn from real instructional materials and discuss the news and culture. The most important thing is to try to communicate in Catalan so you will become more and more fluent. We will get there step by step! I’ve helped a lot of students pass their exams, prepare their interviews and resumes, or just be comfortable in their oral practise.
