I teach students from high school, university but also expats or students that just want to improve their German skills.

About me:
For 2 years I have been teaching as a Berlitz language instructor. In these 2 years, I have taught expats, doctors, engineers, students from more than 50 different countries. I currently teach at university as well.

I am a British/Dutch PhD student (German language and literature) who was raised in both Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

My availability changes every week, but I am flexible. Therefore I could block particular time slots during the week to teach. So, the best way to know my availability is to contact me (the schedule is always subject to changes).

About Me

I am a 26-year old PhD student at university. My PhD is on German language and literature, before my PhD I received a master degree in translating and interpreting (English, German and Dutch). Whilst I was doing my master, I did an internship at the European Commission in Brussels.

Before my language studies I went to a conservatoire of music in London, where I studied musical theatre and opera (voice and acting) where I graduated with a bachelor degree.

*Interpretation techniques and notes for novice interpreters*
The following lessons will be offered to you:
- Introduction to interpreting techniques
- How to interpret consecutively?
- Notes (symbols) for interpreters
- Simulations & Speeches

Through interpreting techniques and notes, the student will be introduced to the correct spelling and symbols to interpret consecutively. A consecutive interpreter has to be able to listen very well and at the same time write down the message as short as possible in order to be able to interpret the whole speech.

In addition to my permanent work, I am an independent teacher. I am a German - Russian translator by training.

Do you wish to learn from someone who understands the struggle of being multilingual? I grew up with Bulgarian and English at home and finished my bachelor’s degree in Germany. I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in classical singing at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp and am more than willing to help with either of my mother tongue or my beloved German.
I have a bachelor’s degree in classical singing, completed in July of 2022. I spent my childhood in Bulgaria and emigrated to the United States at age 10, where I obtained my high school degree. I then moved to Germany and completed my bachelor’s degree, during which I worked multiple jobs, including tutoring in English and German. I can help with school lessons, teach grammar and vocabulary, and can also work on pronunciation and communication skills. I love the German and American culture and am very proud of my Bulgarian heritage. I look forward to helping you with any of those languages!

German is a beautiful language! I give private lessons to students and adults. If you need support and are looking for a native speaker, I can certainly guide you well. I give you homework after each lesson so that you can also repeat what you learned in class at home. I build the lessons well on each other, so that you have a good foundation to build your knowledge even further.
I have experience as a teacher to teach German to students of secondary school. If you did not understand grammar well during the lesson at school, I will gladly explain it and give you small extra exercises to deepen your knowledge. I am very interested in art and culture.
