My name is Eduardo. I'm from Spain and nowadays I live in Antwerp. I'm graduated in ciences and history of music with the saxophone specialty at the conservatory superior of Alicante and a master's degree in education at the university of Alicante. Also I've studied 3 pedagogic courses of education at the university of Madrid. On the another part I've done jazz courses in some provinces of Spain. I like to teach saxophone to my students and I enjonying doing it to improve together. I teach saxophone technic, improvisation and jazz harmony for beginers and intermediate level. Guitarist with a Master's in Jazz Performance from the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa and a Master's in Live Electronics from the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp. I have been teaching guitar for over 20 years, to beginners and experienced musicians alike.

My approach: a real progression plan built for you, with measurable results week after week. I deliberately take a limited number of students so I can follow each one closely.

HOW THE LESSONS WORK

Every student starts with an assessment lesson: we look at your level and your goals, and you leave with a clear practice plan.

After that, depending on your profile:
• Beginners: solid foundations from the start (posture, rhythm, chords, reading), without bad habits to fix later.
• Intermediate players who feel stuck: we find what's holding you back and work on technique, harmony and ear training.
• Jazz and improvisation: harmony, voicings, standards, improvisation.

Lessons at my studio in Antwerp or online, in English, French, Spanish or Portuguese.

- Since when did you develop a passion for music and more particularly for your favorite instrument?

- I became interested in the guitar at the age of ten. I had a friend who played "Blackbird" music by The Beatles and I was fascinated. From there, I started to study and I continue to learn today.

- Beethoven's Seventh Symphony.

- Tell us about the most difficult or amazing lesson you have given!

- It would be a class where I have to explain the major and minor tonality and all its variants in one hour of class. But I will get there!

- In your opinion, what is the most complicated instrument to master and why?

- It was impossible to answer. Each person has different predispositions.
For me to play the piano at a high level would be complicated for the need for independence of the right and left hands. In this sense, the guitar is easier.

- What are, for you, the keys to success (apart from those of Sol and Fa)?

- Constance, it's always better to practice a little every day than a lot once in a while.
Patience, learning an instrument takes time. You have to learn to coordinate the body and the brain and take new paths from time to time.
And the most important :
Don't be afraid of making mistakes, to learn it is essential to make mistakes and this should not be a reason to stop practicing, on the contrary, it should be a motivation to improve.

- An anecdote to tell in relation to your job or your schooling (and not necessarily the party you had after entering the Conservatory)?

- When I started giving lessons (I was 17), I had a 10-year-old student, when I suggested things to do, he looked me directly in the eye and said: No!
But with patience, after a while, I managed to make a connection with him and at the end of the 3 years he played the guitar very well and we became friends. Now he is more or less 25 years old.

I offer private bass lessons to beginners and intermediates who would like to have a deeper understanding of harmony and and music theory. Alongside it, we cover technique over the bass guitar with reference to method books on the subject matter. I prepare weekly exercises using a variety of bass method books as well as basslines taken from songs of our choosing. The weight of music theory, harmony and ear training within what we cover can be rearranged according to the needs and expectations of the student.
