Sophia Shedd is a dynamic freelance harpist based in New York City, known for her versatility across concert, theater, and film settings. She has performed with ensembles including Park Avenue Symphony, Norwalk Symphony, Virginia Symphony, Waynesboro Symphony, and the Martha Graham Dance Company. Sophia has played in theatrical productions all across the New York City area, including broadway and off-broadway. Her work spans classical, contemporary, and collaborative genres, both as a soloist and ensemble player.

I'm a professional harpist from France, passionate about the harp since I'm a child, it would be a pleasure to share and help you to learn more about this beautiful instrument.
I taught 8 years when I was living in Belgium and I always loved sharing my knowledge about the harp with my student. I like the lessons to be enjoyable by a fun and engaging way in order to make my students achieve their goals, and build a strong basis to help them grow and expand their musicality.

I'm a professional harpist who graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in Music with extensive teaching experience in the United States and Belgium. I am offering harp and music theory lessons to students of all backgrounds, levels, and ages.

I am currently in the process of completing my Doctor of Musical Arts at the CUNY Graduate Center. I hope to transfer the skills and knowledge I have obtained from working with some of the most renowned teachers to my own students.
