College Board - AP Calculus AB (2019)

I have taught in an IBDP independent school for 5 years in Singapore, as well as in an American School offering APs for 5 years in Taiwan. I’m certified to teach in both courses. I was an EE supervisor while in the IBDP school for all 5 years. I was also a Chemistry Olympiad coach when I was at that school, as well as a pioneer teacher for an Accelerated Class for Science, which is a talent development program.

Teaching was my first job and I love it. Interacting with students is the greatest joy besides helping them to learn and at the same time enjoy learning. I love Mathematical problems because they are like puzzles. Once I have the keys (concepts or relationships), I just have to figure out how to use them. It's almost like an escape room or jigsaw. Once I figure out how the pieces fit, there is the sense of satisfaction of solving it. Mathematics trains us in being resilient, systematic and logical thinkers and at times, our imagination and creativity.

Science on the other hand, teaches us about ourselves and the world around us - how we interact with each other, how we interact with the world and how other objects or living things interact with each other. The joy of discovery keeps me going. It's always fun to discover something new. Of course, I love the experiments too. It never ceases to amaze students when they see how chemical reactions create something new, change in color, gases, light and heat, and how these can be useful in everyday life. It also teaches us to be respectful of natural laws and be good stewards of the earth and its resources.

About Me

I'm from Singapore and have been in Taiwan for 5 years. I love living here and the community is amazing. I was a student from elementary to college in Singapore and graduated from the National University of Singapore and has taught Math and Science for 15 years. I have taught the International Baccalaureate program for 5 years as well as the Advanced Placement program so I'm familiar with both. My interests besides math and science includes volleyball, ice skating, watching anime and Korean or chinese drama series with martial arts.

I like to get to know my students as individuals with unique personalities, talents and challenges, and interact with them as more of a mentor. I hope that parents can see me as such, and less of just providing a service for a fee.

Mavi
Science tutoring for children and teenagers: IGCSE, IB, and GCSE
I am Mavi, a physics engineer working at an aerospace company. I have been teaching private lessons at the primary, secondary, high school, and university preparatory levels for 9 years. I teach mathematics, physics, chemistry, and science. I have a good command of the curricula of IB, IGCSE, American, Hong Kong, and international schools. Additionally, I hold the position of president at the Astronomy Society, where I foster my students' interest in astronomy and science beyond the lessons. I prepare the learning environment by incorporating experiments and exploration, moving away from rote education. I often bring experimental materials to class, aiming to make learning memorable through hands-on experiments. As an educational mentor, I approach my students as if they were my siblings, valuing creativity. I have a deep passion for mathematics, physics, and science. I am dedicated to helping students understand and learn because life encompasses both SCIENCE and ART. The more people I can inspire to know, understand, and love mathematics, physics, and chemistry, the more proud I am. Are you curious about how nature works? Let's explore together!

Mathematics, Sciences, Algebra, Calculus, Statistics: Higher Education - private lessons.
Need help with math sciences? As a civil engineer, 30, I am happy to help you! Learn at your pace and with many examples to clarify the learning material. I have years of experience in teaching simple and complex material. The lessons run as follows. First of all, together we look for the student's biggest stumbling blocks. These can be related to the subject matter as well as to the study method. From there, I continue to work at the pace of the student and encourage them to ask as many questions as possible. I also give them tips and tricks, and improve their working methods where necessary. During the lesson I give many examples to make the subject matter more interesting and we solve exercises together. Once the student has mastered the exercises from the lesson, I give some more challenging exercises to also test on the deeper understanding of the subject matter. In this way I try to optimally prepare the student for his / her test or exam. However, learning should also be enjoyable. That is why I always strive for a good relationship with the student through a spontaneous and positive approach. I am also very patient. All this lowers the barrier to ask questions and improves the student's learning process. Are you interested? Do not hesitate to contact me! See you soon! Tim

Elementary to Advance level Chemistry to secondary and senior secondary students
When it comes to science, chemistry is the subject that becomes a bridge in understanding and solving the mystery at the molecular level. People generally ignore this subject due to it's wierd theory. Well not more now. I have studied and designed my techniques in such a way that you are going to love this subject. The randomness in your mind, entropy though, I understand it is high. But I will bring that randomness to a stable level , intermix the theoretical concepts with the real world in such a way that you will enjoy that hybridized state. I will help you get your concepts cleared. And more often, I will make you fall in love with this subject. Following are the topics we will be dealing with :- 1. Mole concepts. 2. Problems based upon stoichiometry ( Limiting reagent , POAC , Law of equivalence ) 3. Atomic structure 4. Periodic Classification of elements 5. Concept of Chemical bonding and its type. 6. Gaseous state 7. Thermodynamics 8. Thermochemistry 9. Chemical equilibrium 10. Ionic equilibrium 11. Concept of acid, base and salt. 12. Metals and non-metals. 13. Redox reaction and balancing 14. Hydrogen, hydrogen peroxide and water. 15. s- block elements 16. p- block elements 17. d & f block elements 18. Nomenclature of organic compounds 19. Complete isomerism of organic compounds 20. Ionic, covalent and coordination compounds 21. Isomerism in coordination compounds. 22. General organic chemistry - the heart of organic chemistry 23. Principle reactions of organic chemistry. 24. Carbonyl compounds 25. Alcohol , phenol and ethers 26. Nitrogen containing organic compounds 27. Haloalkane and haloarene 28. Hydrocarbons 29. Metallurgical operations and extraction 30. Surface chemistry 31. Electrochemistry 32. Solutions 33. The solid state 34. Chemical kinetics 35. CVRS and VVRS study 36. Practical organic chemistry 37. Quantitative and qualitative analysis of organic compounds 38. Quantitative and qualitative analysis of inorganic compounds 39. Environmental Chemistry 40. Drugs and medicine - classification and principle criteria 41. Biomolecules 42. Polymer chemistry And many more. You can mention any separate topic you want to study ,if I am missing something here. As different students have different grasping power , so I will be dealing with them accordingly , right from the very basic concepts to the farmost advance level. Give me an attempt, try me, to catch your attention , build up your focus and make your chemistry skills stable similar to the noble gases.

Biology is an important subject because it allows us to understand the natural world and the human body. As a midwifery student in TAU, I have come to appreciate the vital role that biology plays in my field of study and work. It enables me to provide quality care to women during pregnancy, childbirth, and reproductive health. Biology is considered crucial in most fields specifically healthcare. It helps us understand the processes that occur within cells and how organisms function and interact. This understanding allows us to comprehend the changes that occur in a woman's body during pregnancy, childbirth, different medical conditions and diseases. It also helps us identify any potential complications and provide appropriate care and support. Furthermore, biology plays a significant role in raising environmental awareness. With concerns about climate change and environmental degradation, understanding the impact of human activities on ecosystems and biodiversity is crucial. Biology provides insights into conservation efforts, sustainable practices, and the importance of preserving our natural resources. The knowledge of biology allows us to advocate for environmentally friendly practices and educate patients on the importance of maintaining a healthy environment for themselves and the next generation. About me: I am passionate about providing quality care to women during pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, and reproductive health in general. My experience as a midwife and a gynecologist's assistant has equipped me with practical skills and knowledge in the field of healthcare. I have a strong command of English and Farsi, which is crucial for effective communication and teaching. Moreover, my TTC certificate reflect my commitment to professional development and my ability to effectively teach and communicate complex concepts. Overall, my background as a midwifery student and my experience in the healthcare field, combined with my language proficiency and teaching certifications, make me well-prepared to provide biology tutoring courses.

Teaching science to middle school students
Teaching science to middle school students in Arabic and English, a Saudi, Omani, Sudanese, and Kuwaiti curriculum. What do we study in science? Science is one of the most important academic subjects during which the student studies life in general. He studies the human body, animals, and the environment, and monitors human and natural phenomena and how to observe these phenomena, develop hypotheses for them, and conduct experiments on them. Explaining the science subject in a smooth and simple way that makes it easy for the student to understand and assimilate. The science subject is one of the subjects that requires understanding and concentration. The student must be present in mind. Good luck to all students 🥰

Alisa
Academic support in all subjects (math, science, French, German, etc.)
I approach the subject in a free way, I generally start my lessons by asking what the student would not have understood and what he would like us to review. Then I try to explain the themes in question in a different way so that he/she can better understand and fill in his/her potential gaps. I complete the theory with some exercises to train :) I generally finish my lessons by quickly going over everything that has been seen and if necessary we do a little summary together.
