The focus of this class is to give the students the tools they need to speak the English language with confidence and fluidity. It aims to attend to the responses of the question:
"What are my weaknesses when I try to communicate in English?"
My goal is to provide challenging, interactive and FUN lessons and activities that all attend to the student's particular experiences and needs. Some of the students I have had the pleasure to work with include:
- Doctors who travel internationally for work
- Students needing a tutor for the Cambridge exams
- Individuals who do public speaking.
- Small companies and start ups who do business abroad
- Adults who simply want to improve grammar
I assign homework activities and periodic progress reports via Google Docs. We utilize audio/visual and reading material found online, so having a smartphone or tablet in class is helpful, but not required.

About Me
I am obsessed with languages and the many, beautiful ways that people communicate. I also consider myself an effective teacher, in the sense that I adapt my approach to fit a wide range of student needs and learning styles.
I am fluent in North American English, Portuguese and Spanish. I am located in the Catalunya region of Spain. If there is one thing I have learned it's that traveling is the very best way to absorb a language. No matter how effective a teacher may be, consistent, real-life exposure to the language is the way to learn it. If I had never spent time in Brazil, I would have never attained my present-day fluency in Portuguese. Since arriving in Spain (2017), I have become fluent in both Castellano and Catalan!
Aside from teaching English, I also tutor for the SAT and TOEFL exams. I'm an avid tennis player (PTR-certified tennis instructor) and competitive road cyclist. I've completed three Chicago Marathons and qualified for the Boston Marathon.
The main goals of my teaching program are to build a learning foundation in students and to empower them to learn on their own.
