Creative writing is a powerful exercise in not just creating a space that has never existed before, but empathy. During classes with me we will explore with fun, creative - even analytical exercises - how to create characters, form a storyline and challenge our own boundaries. Our lessons will explore what it means to be immersed in fantasy, yet be informed with techniques that have keep us grounded to the goal; write a novel, write a story, write a short piece, devise poetry!

Speaking another language is something that will open doors for you as well as it being incredibly enticing and fun it will really set you apart from academic competition. Whether you take it for GCSE or simply want to learn for fun, there is a fun and challenging class here for you.

If reading, creative writing and literature are things that you hold a deep passion for, then this class will accentuate and emphasise your love for literature. From Renaissance poetry to Victorian writers we will take dips into literary history and indulge into meaning and symbolism. Whether you take English Literature for GCSE or simply want to expand your knowledge and share what you know, this class is more than suitable for you.

A language is learnt with an aim to be able to use it in verbal communication of all forms, and that's what my motto is- to inculcate the capability of reading french, speaking french and understanding french. I use many interactive ways like games, songs, worsksheets, interactive modules to make learning more practical and interesting. All the practice material is always designed specific for every learner's needs and capabilities.

I am currently studying French and German at the University of Cambridge, after having done French, German, and English at A-Level. This class will be individual to any student who takes it, if they arrive with questions or topics they are struggling with then I can help them improve those, or if they give me some samples of work they have done I can go through them and identify points to work on together.

If students simply want to learn a new language for pleasure, then this is something I am also able to facilitate, as long as they tell me what sort of level they are already at.

I have been an English teacher for over twenty years with a Masters degree in Education Psychology. I am a former head of an English department. I specialize in tutoring English for KS2 -KS4 and adults who want to improve their English. Teaching English has been my life and I love it! In my class, you will learn to improve your spelling, use of grammar and punctuation. You will learn to read a range of texts from different genres and analyze their effectiveness. We will engage in Literature texts which will take you to another time and world with much fun and enjoyment. I teach English at GCSE level, including language and literature components. This class will provide you with rigorous practice of GCSE-level essays, in accordance with the respective exam boards, and help you build the correct skillset to ascertain that A-A* in your English exam!

My teaching style is mainly practical and conversational, requiring active engagement from myself, as well as the student. The lesson will have active discussion and feedback on practiced work. Students will be given some tasks to do after every lesson, upon which they will be given constructive feedback to hone their skills.

English taught for younger children or pre-school could be relative to reading, writing and comprehension. Where I’ll be working to improve their handwriting and vocabulary by doing regular engaging activities.

For GCSE students the following content for Literature would be covered for:
-Macbeth
-An Inspector Calls
I’ll be teaching some writing structures for each, as well as some content on key analysis. Student is already expected to know all the basic storylines, characters and some analysis. But I may repeat it for you if you’re confused.
For Language, content would be covered for:
-Language Paper 1 and 2
-Creative Writing
Writing structures will be taught for each question. Some examples given and also a lot of creative writing work as it’s my specialty.

English can be a wonderful subject to learn when given the right tools and motivation. It is the basis for many subjects and mastery of English takes time, dedication and a good sense of humor. In my class, we will tackle English from the roots starting with nouns, verbs, pronouns, and subject and verb agreement and advance to more delicate areas of literature in such a way that learning the English language becomes something that you can look forward to!

I am an experienced tutor who studied English at Oxford university (67), achieved 3 A*s at A Level, and 12 GCSEs grade 7-9 (A-A*). I have been a past English literature GCSE Edexcel and a A-level AQA board B student and believe this experience has taught me clearly how to provide best to different students needs. The texts I have studied for GCSE are Macbeth, Blood Brothers, Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, poetry anthology (Also have done work on Othello and How to Kill a mockingbird) and for A levels my texts studied were Twelfth Night, A Doll's House, Kite runner, Comedy poetry anthology (coursework included Frankenstein and poetry). I'll mainly be focusing on content, exam knowledge as well as exam skills (however, I am open to giving feedback on the NEA coursework elements). I am open to new teaching methods and I will be able to work at flexible hours. My model essays and own resources will also be available for a more engaging teaching method.
