About Me

I am a Malaysian Chinese who used to work in Singapore in corporate world but after that I leave my job and went for a long solo backpack trip from China to Europe via Mongolia and Russian by land. I also spent some time in Australia as working holiday makers.

Therefore I think this is not only about Chinese Mandarin/ Malay language learning process but also about the inter-cultural communication, this is the opportunity to get to explore beyond our boundaries. You get to know more the cultural/ thought in Asia via a language learning process

For those who wish to sit for examination in HSK, I will have the syllabus but the classes not limited to merely reading / work book exercises but also authentic Asian experiences such as festival, dishes.

Depend on your level, no matter beginner or intermediate learner, I could design the course according to your needs, but I wish to bring my students to travel to Asia/ China in my class and get to know the culture/ politics/ economics .

Chinese is my mother language. I specialize in tutoring Chinese ( esp Writing and Oral), teaching kids (4-14 years old) and foreigners. Chinese is my mother tongue. I taught Chinese during my master's studies in Switzerland. I work part-time as a Chinese-French and Chinese-English translator in a traditional Chinese medicine practice.
I have developed a study plan tailored to each student's language level. For the different levels, I prepare a short interesting text for each lesson, then help the student engage in an open conversation, with a Chinese writing assignment and recitation at the end of the lesson. Of course, for students starting from scratch, I will focus on pronunciation in the first month, as it plays a crucial role in motivating them to speak. This will be accompanied by examples, scenarios, and short texts.
After learning English, French and German, I discovered dynamic methods to learn a new language. I also helped my husband to start learning Chinese, which allowed me to design Chinese courses in an effective and interesting way. Giving Chinese lessons while introducing you to Chinese culture is a job that gives me pleasure. And what's more, I feel proud when I see the progress of my students.

I have been giving chinese lessons for more than 10 years. Before that, I was a radio broadcaster and a journalist in China, hence I have a perfect pronunciation of the official mandarin, without any accent. It provides my students the best conditions to learn chinese, as the tone you give to words when you speak chinese as a foreigner is of great importance if you want to be understood by natives.

I have a strong working experience helping students preparing their HSK exam, I also often teach diplomats, to help them acquire the necessary skills and understand properly the vocabulary specific to their job.

Students in this course focus on learning essential vocabulary, practicing pronunciation, and understanding simple grammatical structures. This knowledge prepares students to effectively communicate in Mandarin on a limited range of topics related to everyday situations. Students practice listening and speaking in real-life situations, learn to read
and write Chinese characters and examine how culture and language interact in China.

In-class activities and course assignments aim to assist students as they develop the four-factor proficiency and confidence necessary to initiate simple conversations.
