We’ll focus on an intuitive and creative workflow — learning by making. You’ll leave with a basic understanding of how to manipulate visuals, respond to sound input, and start experimenting with your own interactive environments. All parts of two dimensional art are based in the core components of shape, line, form, color, texture, value, and rhythm. This class will serve as a crash course in how to identify the parts of a whole subject and translate it into whichever medium you wish to try. Class time will be spent constructing subjects using shape, exploring forms of still life's, implementing and explaining the use of references, understanding basic lighting and shadow, applying line weight, understanding basic color theory, and sharing techniques used to successfully portray an artistic subject.
