This is done by taking the pedagogical approach of addressing fixed mindsets and working with my students to build up a wide range of soft skills such as vertical deep learning, in addition to hard skill knowledge-based techniques. I find that by focusing on engagement and student enjoyment, behavioural management is not as needed.
