Performance Art (and Performance Studies)

Unlike my other more structured classes, this one is aimed at people who simply wish to have a space in which to engage in visual art in a very free way. My knowledge, experience, and critiques are of course available, but the point of the course is to experiment with techniques and create without judgement, restriction, or direction.

I'm teaching practical techniques to greatly improve your art and also the creativity boost methods you'll need to develop original ideas. I'm giving fun lessons on subjects that are necessary fundamentals of being able to create strong and bold artworks. I can teach digital art, oil painting, watercolor, pencil drawing and comics. We'll design classes together based on your needs. All skill levels are welcome and will benefit from this lessons.

My course is dedicated to the 'basic' rules of drawing and after that finding your own path, your own style. If you know how to use perspective, composition, capture the right proportions, capture the volume and be attentive to detail, you are fully prepared for making any kind of art you are into. When we will reach this point, I will also help you to go further and develop your own style. I will teach you how to work with visual observation, perspective, volume, light and shadow, composition, proportions, and sketching using graphic material. In order to learn how to draw you need a lot of practice, so I will assign some homework as well. The course is suitable for people of all ages and with different aims, it is always possible to change the learning program for individual purposes. Actress graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and Professor responsible for TFE at the same Conservatory for 3 years now, I am passionate about my job. I have given workshops to children in theaters and am currently giving them to a particular audience as part of art therapy. When I'm not playing in the theater (Théâtre Royal des Galeries, Théâtre Royal du Parc, Templerie des Hiboux, Rideau de Bruxelles, Théâtre Jean-Vilar LLN...), I like to transmit my passion. I would be delighted to help you prepare for entrance exams to the Higher Schools of Dramatic Art (ESA), public speaking or simply work on texts for fun. I give drama lessons for individuals, in companies or in establishments. If you want to take competitive exams, I adapt to the request: we can work on free scenes and courses for ESA entrance exams, think together about an adapted program aimed at highlighting your personality and your particularities. I can also help if you have difficulty speaking in public. We can also work on texts for pleasure and love of the language. Being also a singer, musician, and dancer, I can help you and train you in a multidisciplinary way.

Have you ever wondered how to create artwork? What are the inspiration sources and processes that lead to thinking, sketching, and developing ideas for a visual work? How to understand your own thoughts and express them in a creative way, through writing and/or drawing? This course will provide you with this knowledge and practice! With this course, under the guidance of an experienced academic artist and researcher, you will develop theoretical, but, most of all, practical skills and tools for creating your own artwork: from a thought to a visual result. The focus of this course is on creative writing exercises and artistic methods such as drawing, aquarelle, collage, photography, video art, and other multimedia. This will allow you to better understand practices of contemporary art and to participate from your own home. We will create beautiful texts and poems, expressive sketches and creative maps, illustrative paintings, and photos. The classes are tailored based on the student's needs and wishes, which means different creative exercises. After creative writing, when we reach the visual process, the introduction and guidance for the practical skill of the desired medium will be offered. This class is offered to anyone, no matter the level they have. As an artist with traditional art education, and contemporary art research degree, I believe I can help you regardless if it's for your own practice and interests, or if it's for an academic guidance.

In this class you will learn basic to intermediate 3D modeling skills in Blender or basic to intermediate skills in Plasticity 3D. Blender is a free software used by professionals in all fields of 3D. Be it film, games, movies or just hobbies, like 3D printing, Blender is great! In my Blender course the student will be using the basic version of Blender 4.2 with some extensions. If a paid extension is needed, it will be provided free of charge via Dropbox. Plasticity is a easy to learn CAD like software, geared towards artists. Although not currently adopted by the industry, Plasticity has a bright and promising future and currently is great for hard surface modeling, for things like weapons and vehicles. (plasticity is a paid software and is optional if desired) Students will begin their first lesson by downloading and preparing the software they choose for tutoring. In the second lesson and onward, students will be guided at a customized pace through the process of making their very own assets. This course will build confidence and allow the student to build skills in 3D modeling, sculpting, texturing and animation. As an optional bonus the student may also choose to learn 3D printing.

This class is designed for anyone who wants to learn how to draw — whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine your skills. We’ll start from the fundamentals: shapes, proportions, shading, and perspective. Then, we’ll explore more advanced topics like anatomy, character design, composition, and personal expression. You’ll get personalized guidance and hands-on practice through fun and creative exercises. The goal is to help you build confidence and develop your unique drawing style, whether you’re drawing traditionally or digitally.

Everyone learns differently. That's why I teach the way you want. You decide what you want to learn and how, including when your lesson takes place and how long it lasts. I teach art history to anyone who wants to, regardless of age or level, online or at my home in Velp. You can learn about, among other things, the visual arts, music and literature from prehistory to the present. You can work towards an exam/test/training or just learn out of interest. Whether it concerns Michelangelo's David or the graffiti on the walls of Dubai, I'll be happy to tell you about it. Anything is possible. I am trained as a musician/writer and am a second-degree teacher. I have over 10 years of experience in education and have been teaching art history, music history, creative writing and other subjects at the senior level of a small secondary school for a number of years, where I am also a team member. I write teaching materials that are used at various schools in secondary and higher education. I have a lot of experience with innovative education and one-on-one teaching. Egg tempera is one of the most ancient historical art painting technique. It preserved as a main technique to paint orthodox religious icons. It is possible to learn it and paint your own icon. I have 9 years of practice teaching people how to do it. We work together step by step to understand the technique, the way to prepare wooden panel to paint an icon and the techniques of making a good project to make the icon fit to the board. We also learn how to make gold leaf layer on the nimbs. Your icon will be a real, crafted icon.

I am a visual artist born in Barcelona, settled in Belgium since 2017. As an artist I have accumulated experience for the last 25 years. I am graduated with an Academic Bachelor in Fine Arts in the University of Barcelona and graduated as a Master in Visual Arts at Sint Lucas School of Arts in Antwerpen. I am specialised in painting, drawing, experimental films, installations, language, sound and curating. In other words, I am a multidisciplinary artist. I understand the artistic practice as a way to understand ourselves and the situations which surrounds us. In my classes I don't teach how to do Art, but as how to say something through your artistic work. With me you can work independently, with a coach who will challenge you with some assignments and giving feedback to your personal concerns. In addition, you will learn how to work with several mediums, preparing your own material: paintings, canvases, and so on. You will not only receive individual coaching but as encourage you to look other artists or take into account other references connected with your concerns. Finding, discussing and retaking solutions together are the core of my classes.

Dear dancers, welcome! Do you love dance and want to improve your technical and artistic skills? I am here to help you surpass yourself! ;) Professional dancer, choreographer and teacher, I am creative, empathic, dynamic, and versatile. Holder of a Bachelor's degree in contemporary dance and creation of multidisciplinary performances from the Iceland University of the Arts, a Master 2 in Art Research & International Creation from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, I am an artist member of the International Dance Council at UNESCO. Since 2020, I have been engaged in academic research on medical and spiritual dance whose practice is called Transcendental Dance (Transcendental Embodiment). My professional experience extends internationally where I had the opportunity to work alongside various renowned companies and to organize internships in France, Iceland, Sweden, Mexico, Czech Republic, Spain, Turkey and Asia. Also, I had the opportunity to dance for haute couture houses during Fashion Week in Paris. I teach contemporary dance, technical floorwork (floor work), contact dance and classical dance. My classes focus on mindfulness, musicality, harmonization of energy flows, improvisation, muscle strengthening and coaching in choreographic composition for competitions, exams, galas, and weddings. I am an artist and philosopher from Amsterdam currently living in Antwerp. I studied in London where I acquired a BA from Art Academy London and a BA in philosophy from St Mary's University London. Artistic development starts by identifying your artistic interest. As artists, we don’t always know why we draw and paint the things that we do. Yet they are not random. What captivates us or draws us towards certain artworks? This might be the tonal way in which light reflects, structural forms or mathematical division. The point being, is that we all have such aesthetic interests and step 1 is finding out what interests you! Step 2 is helping you express your interests through painting techniques, styles and materiality. But it all starts with you. What do you want to say? And how? I will help you do this through discussion, looking at your previous work (if you have any), introducing you to a LARGE variety of artists, potentially copying their styles. I adjust my classes according to your needs. The goal is simple: to come to understand your artistic interest, help you find techniques to express them and develop your artistic language. (Please note that just because you have found an artistic interest and a way to express it, it does not mean that you must do only one thing for the rest of your life. It is the downfall of creativity to repeat and paint the same way over and over again. Instead, allow your interests to drive your creativity. Let it be the starting point, venture out and discover it from various angles and ways of expressing it. But also be mindful that as we grow our interests can change and as they change, we must remain honest and respond accordingly such that our artistic language can also grow.) Have questions? This course is an in-depth look into drawing. It is intended for students with some drawing experience as a way for them to build upon existing skills, but students of all levels are welcome. We will go over line, form, and structure, beginning with contour line drawings and eventually building up to the student creating their own pieces. We will discuss figurative and non-representational works, as well as how we can utilize different methods of drawing to convey different feelings and emotions.

Learning to draw or paint is not just about "reproducing well," but more importantly, about developing creativity. My classes emphasize developing the imagination while incorporating a rich and relevant knowledge of art history. Students thus improve both their technical drawing skills and their deeper understanding of art.
