I am an engineer with strong passion for teaching. What is the most underrated fact in communication? Empathy!

I firmly believe good teaching requires empathic behavior: it is about conveying a message, preserving its integrity, meaning-making sure what is told is received exactly the way it's been sent. Communication is subjective and variable: everyone has his own way to represent concepts in their mind.
